Is illustrating a striking adult resemblance between a candidate's child and a prominent colleague/confidante equal to what's being said about Palin’s daughter and husband?

Indeed, one has to expect that public pictures of Palin may be used to draw a time-line on her pregnancy to prove whatever it is someone wants to prove.

Instead, I think the ethical problem here is that the accusations being made are so far out ahead of what the observable evidence supports.

I wasn't aware that the claims had morphed into claims of incest with Palin's husband. The early claims I had heard were simply claims that her daughter had been pregnant, not claims of incest. Yeah, that's pretty awful and I'd be hard pressed to find something that bad here. By the way, Fox News just broke in with a story that Sarah Palin's 17 year-old daughter is pregnant and is expected to marry the father of the child. They said AP has a report on it. But again, who cares?

While I think DUmmies and others are allowed to go way further out on a limb of ridiculousness, this kind of stuff happens at FR too. Occasionally, there have been posters protesting what was being said about Chelsea.

I find it VERY difficult to believe any long time FReeper hasn't seen the Chelsea/Hubble morph. It was posted often, it was posted before Chelsea was an adult, and it wasn't a joke to the people who posted it.

Those people, and the ones who take Ft. Marcy park seriously, aren't worth the time it would take to argue with. They weren't going to be dissuaded, so I never bothered.

There IS no "striking adult resemblance" between Chelsea Clinton and Web Hubbell. None. Nada. Zero. Zilch. Not in the shape of the head and face, nor in the facial features. Chelsea Clinton very closely resembles her maternal grandmother.

This is a photo of Dorothy and Hugh Rodham, and their two children (I think they later had another son) circa the early 1950's. Compare the shape of Dorothy's face, and her facial features to Chelsea.

Here is a photo taken sometime within the last 10 years. It shows a now aged Dorothy Rodham with her grandaughter, Chelsea, and her daughter, Hillary:

Shape of their faces -- nearly identical.
Cheekbones -- identical.
Chins and jawlines -- identical, allowing for their different ages.
Noses -- identical.
Eyes, eyebrows, space between the eyes -- all identical, again allowing for their different ages.
Mouth -- all identical, with the same straight upper lip and bowed lower lip.
