One notice warned that her apartment building could be shut down because the landlord had not repaired storm damage. She worried: What did all the legal forms mean? Was there more paperwork she needed to send in? But at age 51, Williams was embarrassed that she could not read much more than her own name and address. I have a Ph.D. in Physics, but I have to say I can completely identify with her reaction, "What did all the legal forms mean? Was there more paperwork she needed to send in?"
Amen, sister!

There is room for much sarcasm here, and calling congenital idiots just what they are is tempting, but I will be kind tonight and say that I have no idea, except in the broadest sense, just what government gibberish means, whether in the tax code or the mail outs of local licensing authorities. It is shameful. And yes, I am pretty near literate.
