We need a Statue like that in this country as well. Somewhere very visible.

This is great news. I am continually gratified at how the Catholic church, and religion in general, were able to survive and wait for better times under communism. Remember that communism is officially atheistic, and that religious activity was discouraged and strictly regulated under communism. It says something about the strength of religious faith that the faith was forced underground and yet outlasted communism.

Speaking as someone who is not a Christian or religious, I think that's a great idea - as long as the funds come from private donations, as in Poland. Most Americans are Christians - public tributes to the religion they practice would be a good thing.

How about overlooking San Francisco? That would drive the spawns of Satan wild.

Or right in the middle of Fire Island? The sodomites would burst into flame.

Maybe on that Mountain that Billy Graham lived on - that would be a good place for it.

As someone mentioned already, you are welcome to visit The Cross In the Woods National Shrine in northern lower Michigan. It is, however, only 55 feet high, but it is the world's largest crucufix.
