Too bad we didn’t have Maddy Albright to go talk to the Russians about this guy. Could have easily avoided him being accidentally shot and/or beaten to death.

The news item about this in The Sydney Morning Herald says he was shot in the head and dumped on the road and later died in the hospital. But I could not post that item due to copyright complaint.

I can’t help it, but you have to love Putin. He’s almost a perfect cliche spy novel supervillian.

This is scary stuff. I listed last night to an old time radio news broadcast from 1939. The parallels are chilling.

A vocal critic of the Kremlin's policies in the Caucasus died Sunday from a bullet wound to the head while in police custody

Call me paranoid if you will, but that sounds pretty suspicious to me.

“”Along the way, a shot was involuntarily fired from a policeman’s gun and the bullet hit Yevloyev’s head,” the source was quoted as saying.”

Putin’s Russia sure is a blast from the past. But what do you expect when you put a KGB man in charge?

Sad thing is that some sheep over their probably will believe that someone an opposition leader was “accidently” shot in the head by police.

Thank you for posting this thread.

http://www.google.com/search?q=Magomed+Yevloyev&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

I used this search and went past todays articles, to the history of this man.

Interesting reading, found several sites that I had not read before and am convinced that we will see much more of this in the future.

I have followed the reporters of Russia for many years, if they are not dead, they go to a mental hospital, until they loose their urge to tell the truth about Russia.

As happened to the Lady Reporter about a year ago.

Dear Sue-Ann,

The Magomed Yevloyev (or Evloev) who runs "Ingushetia.ru" has nothing to
do with Beslan. The name is quite common in the area.

Btw., there is a lot of confusion who that "Magas" actually is or was.
At first, one of the leaders of the hostage-takers, who called himself
"Magas", was identified as Magomed Yevloyev by the Russian side.

A Magomed Yevloyev, who also went under the nom de guerre "Assadulla", had
taken part in Basayev's attack on Nazran earlier in 2004. The Russian
officials declared that "Magas"/Yevloyev was among the killed
hostage-takers.

Nevertheless, there was no convincing identification of
Yevloyev among the found bodies.

At some point the Russian authorities
began to claim that "Magas" actually wasn't Yevloyev, but one Ali
Taziyev.

In 2006, it was claimed that said Taziyev had been killed in an
explosion together with Basayev.

In a parallel world, someone with the
nom de guerre "Magas" surfaced as the "amir" of the Ingush mujahedeen.
This Magas is sometimes identified as Magomed Yevloyev, sometimes as Ali
Taziyev.

In official decrees by former Chechen President Umarov, as well
as in emirate pamphlets and in Kavkaz-Center stories, "Magas" is
consequently identified as *Ahmed* Yevloyev.

Everything around these names has been completely obfuscated. Ahmed
Yevloyev is certainly a real person.

Maybe the Russian media are
confusing him with Magomed Yevloyev, who might be a partly virtual
figure, created over the Magomed Yevloyev / Assadulla, who took part in
the mentioned Nazran raid, and who was connected with Beslan by Russian
officials in their attempt to present some credible names.

A search of the list archive for e.g. "Magas" and "Yevloyev" (or
Evloyev, Evloev etc.) will result in a large number of contradicting
stories.

Best regards,
Norbert
