Smart. Should postpone or cancel as much as they can, take the most photo-op-capable people to the Gulf.
LOL - yes, you are.
As McCain just said: “We’re taking off our Republican hats and putting on our AMERICAN HATS”......YES!!!!!!!!!!
I agree.
Well, you figure most of the political conventions consist of pep rally type speeches, and a chance for everybody to talk shop and get behind the ticket. The essential work is approving the platform and nominating the president and vice-president candidates. The essential work can be done quickly.
I hate to not have four nights of infomercial for Republicans to counteract the Democrats infomercial from Denver. But a national disaster is more important than politics.
The campaigns motto is
Country First
McCain making the right decision.
Oh, well...
Are they pushing the 4-day program back or eliminating the first day?
You know, this hurricane could end up a big bonus for the GOP better than any convention.
American hats instead of Republican Hats, Fundraising for the Red Cross instead of Fundraising for the GOP, photos of GOP working with the Red Cross helping people instead of blowing horns in a convention hall....and on and on it goes.
You know Michael Moore may have been right on this one. Gustav may indeed have been a gift from God, but not for the rats, BUT FOR THE GOP!!!!!!!!!!!!
McCain/Palin 2008 - COUNTRY FIRST - GO MCCAIN!
McCain is absolutely right. Now is the time to suspend partisanship and help those affected by this tragedy. There is no better way to repudiate Michael Moore’s cynical calumny about the Hurricane being “proof that there is a God.”
Why do we need a convention in the first place?
Smart move. Nobody would be watching any way, and the Republicans get free good will, albeit begrudgingly, from the media.
Here’s the headline:
HURRICANE SLAMS INTO NEW ORLEANS -
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL HARDEST HIT
“There is no better way to repudiate Michael Moores cynical calumny about the Hurricane being proof that there is a God.”
Yes, there is a God and the Almighty sent Gustav to show the American people who the real helpers are. The Republicans will rise to the occasion showing all the Democrats up for the hypocrits they are.
Chuckle.
OUT F***ING STANDING!
I am so glad that Louisiana has a great Governor now.
