The convention is merely a waste of $$$.

I respectfully disagree.

The democrats got an eight point bounce out of their repeated POUNDING of the Republican Party over and over and over for 4 days during PRIME TIME!

The Republican Party will be unable to return the favor,,,,and no amount of 'goodwill' can make up for that kind of 'in your face' marketing.

It would cost tens of millions of dollars (if not more) to reach that kind of audience repeatedly in prime time. Absolutely errible luck for us.

Dunno. It’s not strengthening despite the hot air of the MSM hoping it so. zhopefully the worst of this will be over by Monday night.

At 1:00 CDT the maximum sustained winds were at 115 mph, barely a category 3 which begins at 111 mph. That’s not to say it won’t strengthen but the MSM is currently still billing it as the storm of the century as well as the mother of all storms.

when we get through this safely, Bush, McCain and Jindal will all be blamed by the MSM for overreacting and disrupting people’s lives.

God Bless the Republican Party.

actually there are equal time rules that apply.

The dinosaurs have to give equal time to the republicans.

They also cant substitute Obama for GWBush time.

It was a no win situation. Hold the convention, and be accused of hating black people again, or not hold it, and delay the race.

What about Fred’s speech? Will they be re-arranging schedules to work him in, or will he just be scrapped as well? I was very much looking forward to seeing FRed.

when you have the CNN booth standing up and cheering Obama, there is nothing you can do to get such balance over there.

Very realistic skipping Monday.
First lives in a part of the country are at risk
and property.

The news media and a large part of the country will be focused on the weather, not the meaningless of the first night of the convention.

Am glad to see the country club wing of the Republican party gets it and will focus on the reality of the moment.

As much as the GOP has ticked me off in recent years, its still capable of handling a regional natural disaster and hold a political convention at the same time. This is what I'd expect from the liberal PC police.

Canceling the opening night plays right into the hands of the Demlibs and their cohorts in the media.

It was a no win situation. Hold the convention, and be accused of hating black people again, or not hold it, and delay the race.

EXACTLY. Not to mention reminding everyone of Katrina (unfairly, I may add).

An absolutely incredible stroke of luck for Hussein and the democrats.

This hurricane will cost the Republicans dearly--as no matter what happens from here on--the ability to return the favor 'in-kind' is now lost to a great degree.
