-- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is as complex as the place she calls home. Plucked from near-political obscurity to become Sen. John McCain's running mate, Palin either has pitch-perfect political instincts or has benefited from a spectacular run of luck that has landed her in the ultimate right place at the right time.

It is easy to see why McCain was drawn to her; their political resumes have much in common.

One good solider knows another, McCain knows what "true grit" looks like.

“The landscape up here is littered with people who have underestimated her,” said Eric Croft, a Democratic former state representative who enlisted her help when he investigated a Republican oil commissioner for ethical breaches. “Maybe she is not ready for prime time, or maybe she is going to litter the national landscape with people who have underestimated her.”

“There’s a real question whether she’s a Republican or a Democrat,” said GOP state Rep. Mike Hawker.

“She has succeeded in her own limited policy agenda as a Republican governor by having the Democrat caucus in lock-step with her.”

Maybe she’ll walk right across that stage in her high heels and bloody Joe’s nose. Wouldn’t that be a hoot?

I’ll settle for figuratively bloodying his nose though.

Everyone in the media says that people want a moderate who can build bipartisan coalitions then whenever they find evidence of moderation and bipartisanship, all they do is complain about it.

These shoes of Sarah should hurt his nose quiet a bit and will cause him great distraction.

Let it become "The Highway of Death". Burned up hulks of liberal talking heads, "experts" , MSM propaganda readers.

May Barry Obama and Lying Joe Biden's political careers be among the refuse.

I might add one thing about that Moose in the picture, it has already been gutted, that is why it looks the way it does. I am pretty sure all Freepers know that, but for the lurkers at DU :-)

Sarah on the Planet Hoth, .....

“Echo Three to Echo Seven. I finished my circle. I don’t pick up any life readings. There’s a meteorite that hit the ground near here. I want to check it out. It won’t take long.”

“Hang on, kid. This may smell bad, but it’ll keep you warm.”

Palin has a lot of Teddy Roosevelt in her. Outdoorswoman, hunter, activist in conservatism, youth. She took on corruption in her own party in her own state, not because it was expedient, but because it was the RIGHT thing to do.

Teddy did the same as Governor and again as President.

The future of the Republican Party and Conservatism has a new name, and a new face.

Sarah Palin.

The Republican Party has to start letting the youngsters take charge. :-) Gradually of course. This is a real good start.
