Don’t cancel.

Instead, have a WORKING CONVENTION in which people from Louisiana, Texas, etc - or from FEMA - are shuttled back and forth as necessary so they can do what they have to do.

Delegates from Louisiana, Texas could vote from “home” if necessary, and John McCain and Sarah Palin could do several remotes from the hurricane area.

This hurricane, in fact, could show the country how dedicated and professional the team of McCain/Palin will be in the White House.

I don't think the convention should be canceled, but this can be used as a reason to change the way the convention happens, and bring it into the 21st century. That would also be a wonderful contrast to the Sermon From Mt. Hubris that the Democrats led up to.

A 4-day, everybody in the same building convention is the buggy-whip of American politics. Of all the things the parties should be serpenting money on, where does a convention fall?

And why schedule major events like once-every-four-years conventions during a season where you could have a hurricane make land? That's just a bad idea to begin with; kind of like building a city below sea-level and then getting surprised when it gets wet.

F&F just had 2 LA delegates on. They got their homes ready, and their families out, then came to the convention.
