The lack of personal testimonials at the DNC coronation must leave Democrats uneasy.
Barack Obama is an immensely talented man whose talents have been largely devoted to crafting, and chronicling, his own life. Not things. Not ideas. Not institutions. But himself.
Nothing wrong or even terribly odd about that except that he is laying claim to the job of crafting the coming history of the United States. A leap of such audacity is odd. The air of unease at the Democratic convention this week was not just a result of the Clinton psychodrama. The deeper anxiety was that the party was nominating a man of many gifts but precious few accomplishments bearing even fewer witnesses.
When John Kerry was introduced at his convention four years ago, an honor guard of a dozen mates from his Vietnam days surrounded him on the podium attesting to his character and readiness to lead. Such personal testimonials are the norm. The roster of fellow soldiers or fellow senators who could from personal experience vouch for John McCain is rather long. At a less partisan date in the calendar, that roster might even include Democrats Russ Feingold and Edward Kennedy, with whom John McCain has worked to fashion important legislation.
Eerily missing at the Democratic convention this year were people of stature who were seriously involved at...
--snip--
Thought experiment. Assume John McCain had retired from politics. Would he have testified to Obamas political courage in reaching across the aisle to work with him on ethics reform, a collaboration Obama boasted about in the Saddleback debate? In fact, reports the Annenberg Political Fact Check, the two worked together for barely a week, after which McCain accused Obama of partisan posturing and launched a volcanic missive charging him with a double cross...

If you’re looking for Barak’s buddies, look under the bus.
There are plenty of people who can offer glowing testimonials of their long relationship with Mr. Obama and testify about his dedication to their political cause. Unfortunately for the Democrats, they are all Communists.
The press are perfectly aware of Obama’s Communist leanings, they are, after all, fellow travelers. For that reason, they are doing everything in their power to ensure that this information is kept from the American people. They will fail, this will come out. And when it does, Mr. Obama will be done.
The ones that know BO best have the type character BO doesn’t want to be seen with now.
A wonderfully brutal indictment by Dr. Charles.
No family members...no childhood friends...no army buddies...no law school pals...no high school sweethearts...no friends from work...it has always been about him...didn’t anyone else think it was strange that Bidenâs entire family was there and Barak (except for Michelle and the two whelps) was all alone in the world. He really is Jay Gatsby...an enigma of self aggrandizement.
Yup, not that there's anything wrong with that...

Excellent point in this article. I hadn’t thought of it, and now I clearly hear the dog that isn’t barking. Of course he has friends, benefactors, and mentors. But he doesn’t want us to find out about them.
I would agree with that description and I would guess that holds true with Michelle. They have each other and their ambition but it must be a lonely life.
BHO scares the hell out of me.
1.) COLB
Proven fake by more than one source

We know some details - Lots of gaps - muslim?
3.) College thesis has vanished
Was it anything like Micheles?
4.) Overseas travel

5.) Law records
What cases did he represent?
6.) Senate records disappeared
What was he trying to hide?
7.) Associations
Rev Wright, Ayers, Michele etc.
8.) Senate voting record
That speaks for itself
9.) SCOTUS
10.) Proven liar
Evidently he received answers of "no thank you" from better candidates, which is rather remarkable considering that many senior Democrats would happily serve as vice president for virtually anyone that has a reasonable chance of winning.
My own guess is that senior Democrats see this as another debacle in the making and want to be far away from another Mondale/McGovern level defeat.
Gina Romantica, puzzled asks Peter Sellers, "What are we running from?" and Sellers responds, "From yourselves". The Victor Mature character exclaims, "I love it!".
Palin can attest to having accomplished more in one month in public office than NOBAMA can demonstrate in his entire public life!

He makes clinton look like a statesman.
Were Bill Ayers and Rev. Wright too busy?
There's a lot of that sort of thing going around these days.
