My Republican and conservative friends are now actively promoting Bob Barr, which is odd because yesterday they maintained Barr was Satans older brother.
...
Palin does not by herself create a threat to the bicorporal Obama/Biden. There are plenty of policy difference whereby party loyalists and inclined independents would swim toward one candidate or the other regardless of the Palin factor. She may not even shift many of the authentically undecideds or even a single Hillary harlot.
But she does keep that disgruntled 8% from defecting the McCain camp while Joe Biden does nothing to secure disaffected Democrats.

You must have weird friends.

Bob Barr helps to put a socialist in the White House. Conservatives who think that helps the cause are setting back the country decades. I don't care for some McCain's liberal views but in Sarah we would have a voice in a McCain Administration. In an Obama one we will have NONE.

A libertarian isn't the same as a conservative. Any one who thinks Barr will get elected President my friends, is delusional!

For some reason you edited out the key sentences:
“So where does Bob Barr come in? My Republican friends are indeed promoting Barr now
to their blue Democrat friends.”

There are 2 staunch Barr supporters at work that switched the second they read Palin’s bio. They absolutely hate McCain but said they would vote for Palin even if McCain was on the ticket.

We have an advocate for conservatism where we didn't have one before. McCain can be convinced to drop his nonsensical liberal affectation for climate change and against oil drilling in ANWR. Obama will NEVER do either of those things and you can take that to the bank.

That’s a rather key omission.
Why promote somebody’s blog and selectively edit?
Do we really need to post hundreds of thousands of opinion blogs at FR on this VP pick?
Ponderous.
To: CounterCounterCulture
Why promote somebodys blog and selectively edit? Especially if the selective editing makes the blogger in question look like a fool.

What a stupid idea. At least you’re not gonna see too many BDDs voting for Barr!
To: goldstategop
Not only that, but with Sarah we have a future boan fide, real-life American Conservative poised to be President. McCain done us good, real good.
No excuses for the base.
Get out the vote.

Why Palin hurts Obama Ahh... because she's standing on his "parts" with a 6" high heel?
To: guyshomenet
. . . she does keep that disgruntled 8% from defecting the McCain camp . . .
I've got news for you, pal. Ain't nothing short of televised religious conversion on McCain's part and million dollar bribes to every voter is going to bring hardliners back into the camp. IMO, they can go pound sand.
Choosing Palin give rank and file conservatives a chance to vote based on hope rather than fear. She's going to have a shot in 2012 or 2016 against the beast. On top of that, she's actually got conservative values and a lifestyle to back it up. She's Brownback on policy, Romney on family and Ann Coulter on looks. Besides that, it looks like she's got bigger balls than anyone in the pubbie clan at this time. Besides, her husband (the First Dude) looks like he can kick the @ss of anyone in DC and anyone in the RAT party nationwide.

Bob Barr isn't going to pull any more votes than the usual these minor parties get. Barr isn't that great a campaigner and he has absolutely no chance of winning or even coming close to doing what Perot did in 1992 or 1996. No money.
No this campaign is what it is, one with lousy choices and one bright spot, that being Sarah Palin.
So like it or not McCain is the choice and only choice.
To: guyshomenet
This distain for McCain within his own party has been somewhat problematic as 8% of polled Republicans threatened to wait until 2012 to vote again. Independent, conservative, and this has been my attitude.
I wager with Palin the attitude will change. But I'd by lying if I didn't say I'm hoping for a McCain retirement in '12 leaving Sarah to head the ticket.
I support her and have for the last few years. My attitude to him remains the same.

Bob Barr was great in Borat. Is he a real candidate?
