Well an “anarchist state” (as in govt.) is a contradiction in terms, but you are correct that anarchists are so loopy that they have no conception of what a catastrophe it is when govt. and security break down completely. They have some demented idea that “people can’t we all just get along” is a sufficient basis for modern societies, when the evidence is everywhere that a minimum level of govt. and security is absolutely essential to protect against internal and external threats. There are always those who would plunder, rape, and/or murder their way to get what they want, and also those who want to kill us all. Now how much police, military, etc. constitutes a reasonable level is always much in dispute, but anarchism (to the extent that there are any “ideas” there at all) is simply extreme adolescent dementia acted out.

Someone, and I believe the quote comes form Louis L’amour and I'm not sure where he would have gotten it, said that two out of every five people in any society are savages. The robbing, raping, pillaging, and looting kind of savages. Further, in a polite society they may not even know they are savages. However, they are all constrained by one constant threat. The simple fear that if the engage in what they really want to do, society will send men with guns to stop them.

Anarchists would free the savages from that fear.

I am not sure, but I would suspect that the number of savages amongst liberals is higher than the number of savages amongst conservatives. This article is just more evidence that this is the case.
