I understand that the Palins, before she was governor, turned someone in for tazing a child and making threats. Reporting child abuse is a requirement. It is illegal NOT to do so.

that is the issue they were discussing, it was her brother-in-law a state trooper that she had fired for driving the cop car drunk and tasing her nephew, the troopers son.

I can see the McCain ad now: With Hendrix's "Hey Joe" playing in the background:

"The Obama campaign is attacking Governor Sarah Palin and her family for their role in the firing of State Trooper Wooten. What they won't tell you is that Wooten is a child abuser who used a taser on his 10 year-old son. He also threatened to kill the Governor's father. He has been reprimanded multiple times and was suspended form the force for five days for gross misconduct. Why is Senator Obama trying to defend an abusive father and husband in order to attack the first woman governor of Alaska?"

And the ad ends right as Hendrix sings, "I'm going down to shoot my old lady..."

Wooten is going to end up being Obama's Willy Horton.

Palin’s sister called her up because her husband, guy named Wooten, came home and was threatening her, the children and to kill their (Sarah and Molly (the sister’s) father.

Wooten is a state trooper. Sara tried to calm her sister down but she could hear her brother-in-law screaming and threatening over the phone. Finally Sarah gave her son the phone to keep listening in and drove over to her sister’s. Because of the configuration of the windows, Sarah could see inside her sister’s house. She could see her BIL standing in front of her sister screaming and raising his hands. Sarah got a neighbor near her sister to come look.

This all happened two months BEFORE Sarah even ran for Governor, now over two years ago. Records and transcripts of what happened are all online and very readable if the writers aren’t in the tank determined to lie all over the place about this. I spent an hour or so going over it all because I KNEW, I just KNEW this would happen.

The officer taking Palin’s report asked why she didn’t call the police. Sarah Palin said she didn’t want to get her BIL in trouble, that his job might have been on the line. Remember, Sarah just wanted her sister to be safe; she didn’t want to take any action so severe UNLESS she felt her sister was in danger, which she did not.

Over two years later, get this, Sarah fired some bureaucratic nobody who was doing a lousy job. This bureaucratic nobody, name Monegin or something, looked to make up some kind of scandal out of nothing. Monegin was the head of Alaska’s Safety Something Something, might have been Bureau of Funny Walks. Whatever, he was oncit a cop. Sarah fired him because, well he wasn’t doing the job she wanted him to do, imagine this concept if you will. She offered him another job, similar talent, same salary I assume, something with booze. Monegin turned it down.

With some nudging by that state’s corrupt Republican party (TWO fellows name Stevens under scrutiny by the Feds, one fine fellow named Ted now indicted I might remind) Monegin said that he was fired because Palin was pressuring him to fire this former BIL Wooten, which Monegin COULD do. But he is such a fine, fine honest fellow, he had to quit rather than do the evil Governor’s bidding.

This is all a crock folks. If Sarah Palin wanted to fire her AWFUL brother-in-law the Alaskan State Trooper 1) why did she not just call that death threat in to her father when it happened? Remember, she didn’t because she didn’t want to GET THE GUY IN TROUBLE! Now over two years later as the state Governor she suddenly wants him fired. Or 2)Why couldn’t she have Wooten fired sooner as Governor....or so pressure Monegin to do so? All of a sudden she wants to fire her brother-in-law, right when she’s being nominated for VP?

Couple more things, stay with me, this guy Wooten is one bad, bad, very bad dude. He tazered his stepson with his police issued tazer gun, he got out his gun in a bar and demanded the bar owner throw out a patron who was with a lady he rather favored AND, with a powerful union, Wooten STILL got five days suspension but he should be fired. He’s nobody’s hero, read up on this when you can. And STILL Sarah Palin didn’t want to hurt her sister, her sister’s family and their livelihood and did not report his terrible behavior. Wooten’s record of despicable behavior was reported by others.

In the interest of fair and balanced, Monegin did name one person in Palin’s surround who called him and said that “the Governor and her husband are beside themselves that Wooten still has a job”. That person, head of the Bureau of Hot and Cold Water Taps, DID admit to making such a call to Monegin but did so with no prompting by the Palins. Plenty of other people in Palin’s surround were named as complicit by Monegin but they have ALL denied it and agreed to sign under oath.

Be prepared for this, folks, cause it’s easy enough to read it all and if I could easily get the whole story than for sure the drive-by’s can.
