First, I've not even seen proof of that

The chairwoman of the AIP now says she made a mistake about Sara Palin's membership (blaming the wrong information on an unnamed co-worker), but maintains that her husband, Todd, has been a registered AIP member until 2002.

She also maintains that Sarah Palin attended the pro-secessionist party congress in 1994 and 2006. I will sit back on this one, this time, but if it turns out to be true then the Republicans will have made a historic move indeed, picking a VP who has flirted with secessionists. I wouldn't wnat to be remembered for that.

I don’t think that there’s any problem at all with a native Alaskan or a native Hawaiian flirting with secessionist groups.

After all, reservations are independent nations.

I really don’t see how anyone couldn’t see the emotions involved in these states that were until recently territories of the US.

Check out Puerto Rico.
