Sorry - I don’t know this entire story - did the daughter with mono have to leave home because her mom was pregnant?

That sounds a little weird to me. What if the child were much younger, like 10? Who would send a 10-year-old away from home just because he had an illness like mono? It seems cruel. Since this “banning” of the teenage daughter from school and home for 6 months makes no sense, maybe that is where this rumor got started.

I have no idea, I was just responding to skipper's saying she had, and responding that in the event she did, maybe that would be why.

Did she or didn't she? I have seen no articles claiming either.

Where did the story of some sort of banning even come from??

I remember a news story a while back about mono, but the rest is pure conjecture as far as I am concerned, until I see proof. It is common place to keep children from attending school if they do have it, but that is not being banned.
