Stay Classy Daily Kos: Accusations Palin 'Faked Her Pregnancy' of Down's Syndrome baby

Taking a look at the stories in the Old Media will show that the Media is turning attack dog ASAP on McCain's choice for vice president, Sarah Palin. Notice the main meme is her supposed "inexperience." Funny how Palin was the VP pick for about 15 seconds before the Old Media went after her "inexperience" while they have yet to hit Barry Obama on HIS inexperience at all and he's been running for president since 2004. We should also note that Palin didn't get the honeymoon that Biden got when his announcement was made. But, the worst is yet to come and the Daily Kos is doing its level best to mine the lowest of lows. In a Kos diary today, it is being alleged that Sarah Palin "faked" the pregnancy of her last child, a baby born with Down's Syndrome. The claim is that it was her teenaged daughter's child, not hers. And, true to form, the Kossacks took that absurd calumny and hate even further in the comments.

So, Alaskan secessionist traitors are better than Communists? May I quote you on that?

Can you back up that Gov. and Mr. Palin are "Alaskan secessionist traitors"? For a rock-solid source on this I'd suggest either the Daily Kos, DU, or US Weekly. :)

FK: Palin has never been part of this group. Only people trying to smear her have attempted a link.

So, what? Her husband was a card-carrying secessionist, while she was a mayor, until 2002. What if it turned out that he was a member of the Communist Party USA? Would that tarnish her as well?

And I say "So What?" right back. Even the spokesperson for that group says that not every member is a card-carrying secessionist. I haven't seen any info saying that Mr. Palin believed in secession. In addition, to call these people traitors is ridiculous. SOME of them want a vote they already know will change nothing. If they took up arms or even condoned any sort of violence that would make them traitors. I see no evidence of either.

And what would the GOP do if they were to find out that Obama's wife had been a member of the Black Panthers as recently as 2002? They would go ape over it!

Sure they would. The Panthers used and promoted violence against citizens. There is no comparison to the AIP. And make no mistake, I don't stand for or support the AIP. I see them as harmless, and actually right about several things. (I guess that means I hate America too. :) I just think it's unfair to attack Palin by making comparisons to groups that actually ARE dangerous. The AIP does not belong in the same sentence as the Communist Party or the Panthers. It's a false comparison.

If you will go to these lengths to GET Palin then it appears that you REALLY REALLY want to dislike her. If true, that is fine. Don't vote for her then.

Why are America-haters "welcome" and Obama's wife's "first-time-proud-of-the-country" is not? I think they are both wrong and should not be welcomed for their stance.

If you think you know enough to call the AIP "America-haters" then by all means connect Palin to them, say she founded the group if you want, and vote accordingly. I just don't think that "Palin-haters" have done their homework. From The New York Sun

The director of the Alaska Division of Elections, Gail Fenumiai, said Mr. Palin twice registered under the Alaskan Independence Party — in 1995 and 2000. Some members of the party have advocated secession from America, though that is not a goal listed in the party's platform. (emphasis added)

And from the Party's own website (with my emphasis): Alaskan Independence Party

Platform - We pledge to exert our best efforts to accomplish the following:

1. To effect full compliance with the constitutions of the United States of America and the State of Alaska.

2. To support and defend States' Rights, Individual Rights, Property Rights, and the Equal Footing Doctrine as guaranteed by the constitutions of the United States of America and the state of Alaska.

3. To advocate the convening of a State Constitutional Convention at the constitutionally designated 10 year interval.

4. To reinforce the unalienable rights endowed by our Creator to Alaska law, by eliminating the use of the word "privilege" in the Alaska statutes.

5. To amend the Constitution of the State of Alaska so as to re-establish the rights of all Alaskan residents to entry upon all public lands within the state, and to acquire private property interest there in, under fair and reasonable conditions. Such property interest shall include surface and sub-surface patent.

6. To foster a constitutional amendment abolishing and prohibiting all property taxes.

7. To seek the complete repatriation of the public lands, held by the federal government, to the state and people of Alaska in conformance with Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17, of the federal constitution.

8. To prohibit all bureaucratic regulations and judicial rulings purporting to have the effect of law, except that which shall be approved by the elected legislature.

9. To preserve and protect the Alaska Permanent Fund, Permanent fund earnings, earnings reserve fund and individual Permanent Fund Dividends.

10. To provide for the direct popular election of the attorney general, all judges, and magistrates.

11. To provide for the development of unrestricted, statewide, surface transportation and utility corridors as needed by the public or any individual.

12. To affirm and assert every possible right-of-way established under R.S. 2477 of July 26, 1866, before its repeal by the Federal Land Management Policy Act of October 21, 1976.

13. To support the right of the individual to keep and bear arms.

14. To support the complete abolition of the concept of sovereign or governmental immunity, so as to restore accountability for public servants.

15. To support the rights of parents to privately or home school their children.

16. To support the privatization of government services.

17. To oppose the borrowing of money by government for any purposes other than for capital improvements.

18. To strengthen the traditional family and support individual accountability without government interference or regulation.

19. To support the right of jurors to judge the law as well as the facts, according to their conscience.

20. To support "Jobs for Alaskans...First!"

---------------------------

Now, if you want to compare this to "America-hating" or Communism or violent groups such as the Black Panthers, then have at it. I just think it's intellectually dishonest.

“You’re right, but how he handled that experience reveals the character within. In the end, there is no way to know what situation a President is going to be confronted with and the only thing you can rely on is his character. Clinton and the mishandling of Kosovo and Bosnia are great illustrations of what happens with someone with no character. Bush and his response to 9-11 is what happens when you have someone with character.”

Interesting observations, WF. Let me provide a little about the Senator’s character for coddling genocidal communists back in the nineties. Back under Clinton there was a movement among the Lao and their supporters all around the globe to restore representative democracy to Laos. Clinton and his State Dept. naturally supported the Pathet Lao regime. The overwhelming majority of members of Congress of both houses supported the Lao from all levels of Lao society working for democracy. I became very involved with the leaders of that movement. To that end I spent a great deal of time in DC working the halls of Congress. Among the Senators, the two biggest supporters were Jesse Helms and Paul Wellstone, demonstrating the breadth of the appeal of the cause of the Lao people. In fact every Senator supported the Lao except one, McCain, who went positively beserk at the idea of using American diplomatic and economic influence to effect the establishment of a representative government in Vientiane. He did everything he could to stymie our efforts in support one of the world’s most genocidal regimes. I was there; I know. It therefore came as no surprise to me that McCain has embraced the Islamic terrorists of Albania and Kosovo, supporting their cause with American military, financial and diplomatic might or that his present campaign, as were earlier ones, is in great measure financed by American lackeys of those killers. And now he picks as his running mate a woman who uses her four month old child with Down Syndrome as a prop at a political convention.

Some character! /s

She is also a religious nut, a fundamentalist Evangelical, a Christian with a Mohammedan mindset, liking the Iraq war to "God." I guess she didn't follow the course of events and lies that got us into that war. It had nothing to do with God, but with a carefully orchestrated man-made scenario.

Oh, so THAT'S what it is. :) I couldn't figure it out for the life of me, but that explains everything. She's a non-Apostolic Christian. Got it. It must really frost some that as an infant she was baptized a Catholic. :)

FK: Yes, I completely agree given that she seeks to represent all Americans.

She doesn't represent all Americans. Someone forgot to tell her that. There are people who don't hunt for food in this country. Most of us have supermarkets.

If elected, she WOULD represent all Americans, that's what I said. And, you gotta love a woman who shoots her dinner!

Mmmmmmmmmm. MOOSEBURGERS

Unfortunately, we already know how he would have handled it, because Clinton did what McCain would have gladly done for him. His support for the Bosnian and Kosovo Mohammedans is well known.

Character he has, but his judgment is a different story. He used his judgment to co-sponsor an immigration amnesty bill with Edward Kennedy, and to vote for stem cell research, and on numerous other issues that clashed with mainline Republicans.

Character is one thing; judgment is another. Character is a gun; judgment is what you do with it. There is no guarantee that having character will result in the right judgment.

I'm guessing that part of the reason McCain was beaten so brutally while a POW was that from time to time he, a LtCdr when downed, was the ranking individual.

I am not sure if he was the ranking POW. LtCdr is equivalent to a Major (O-4). You may be thinking LtCol (O-5).

I am sure they tried to make an example of him after he refused them. It was pure revenge. I am surprised he survived. The bastards would not have answered to anyone had he died. And ten years later we had diplomatic relations with Vietnam. It's really pathetic.

Like I said, he has character and he made a heroic decision in Hanoi. That doesn't mean his other choices in life were of equal merit, or a guarantee that they will be of equal merit.

I disagree with McCain's liberal stand, and on a number of domestic and foreign policy judgments. I have no issues with his character, his bravery, his suffering or his patriotism.

Can you back up that Gov. and Mr. Palin are "Alaskan secessionist traitors"?

You are twisting things, FK. I am surprised. Grabbing at straws? My comment was referencing Gov.Palin's welcoming address to the AIP. I never said she was a secesisonist. I have no clue what Mr. Palin's attitude is regarding Independence. But he was a member of a Party that was founded by an Anti-American and remind s true to him. (see my post #429)

The Panthers used and promoted violence against citizens. There is no comparison to the AIP

Michelle Obama would have been a little too young to be with the militant Panthers of the 1968 who were battling federal troops in the streets of American cities. There is a "new" Black Panther organization and as far as I know ti has not reached for violence as a means of their political ascent.

If you will go to these lengths to GET Palin then it appears that you REALLY REALLY want to dislike her

I am really, really trying to get to the bottom of this issue, because there are rumors, false information, and above all silence from the Palins on the topic. But it sounds to me that instead of being suspicious of the silence you seem to use it to rely, really unconditionally like her.

If you think you know enough to call the AIP "America-haters"

Apparently you didn't read enough about them. There is lots more on that site. You also left out the part where it says they are staying true to the founder who was most definitely anti-American.

Now, if you want to compare this to "America-hating" or Communism or violent groups such as the Black Panthers, then have at it. I just think it's intellectually dishonest.

I didn't say the AIP is like Communists or Old/New Black Panthers. I am saying that it is a Party that advocates disloyalty to the United States. It advocates the right to secession by vote. It doesn't provide a reliable number of how many favor Independence but reason tells you that if they didn't stand to gain something from this vote, they wouldn't ask for it.

Yes it is sad tat she was baptized into the Church and either became an apostate or never had a chance to be Catholic.

And, you gotta love a woman who shoots her dinner!

Hardly.

Yes, I realize it is major. However, it was entirely possible that he was at various times the ranking person.

It is not disloyal to want to return to territorial status. This group believes they were not granted the statehood vote.

Now, that is either a fact or not or there’s some strange twist that they’re allowed to question. I wonder why they believe it?

The fact that Palin’s husband, part Eskimo, would be associated with an Alaska-only group simply doesn’t bother me at all. It seems sort of natural, actually.

I am very glad they went over McCain's experience in the POW camp. I had never heard the story told or shown before. If I, a retired soldier, had not seen, then surely many others had also not seen.

I think it's been a brilliant strategy on the Republicans' part. Weeks ago, there were rumblings by Obermann and Blitzer and Cooper and all the liberal talking-heads (redundant) that McCain was beginning to talk "too much" about his war experience.

But instead of pulling back on the story, McCain has shoved the facts of those five long years in captivity at the hands of a brutal enemy right into their pasty, smug, powered and coiffed faces.

Soon there won't be a person in the world who hasn't learned what McCain endured for his country. That's smart.

FWIW, I figured that the movement was the result of having DC bureaucrats and politicians control the natural resources they live on. The greatest source of income in the state is from oil and natural gas, but they aren't being allowed to fully develop those resources. I resent DC interfere in an ever expanding part of my life, why not them?

My daughter in law is a Tlingit Indian. It wouldn’t surprise me if my son and she were part of that, but I really don’t know that they are. I should ask them. Alaskans are VERY independent and always have been. They might not like the restrictions being put on them by the US government, esp. where their land and drilling rights are concerned.

I keep hoping NYC will secede from the state. That’s where so much of OUR money goes.
