Now if anybody bothered to read the Savage 'opinion' piece rather than let whatever bias they have about Savage send them into some instantaneous epileptic frenzy the minute they see the name SAVAGE, they'd see that Savage felt a McCain-Romney ticket would've been a slam dunk into the White House for the Republicans,Since when were Freepers ever bothered by "reading the whole thing."
I'm not putting my dog into this fight. I will say this: During the 2000 election vote fraud fight I was a new listener to Savage. I carried a protest sign with Savage's words, "Al Gore. Have You No Shame?" It was VERY effective and I received a lot of comments on it.
That was also the election when I became a committed Republican. I was a registered Republican, but an "open-minded" one (aka idiot). I could never support the agenda of Jerry Brown.
I truly felt this last week that McCain would pick Romney. It was the safe pick. It made sense. But Mac knew what he was doing, and I'm so glad he did.
Your post made me laugh (in a good way), you know I never could understand the Savage donation to Jerry Brown as he has never fully explained it. Many use that as a means to tar and feather him as a fake conservative, yet Savage has donated to Lt Patano when he got into trouble, he also put all his weight behind the defense of the Pendelton 8 and then the Hadita Marines devoting radio time while helping collect donations for Lt. Col Chessani, and more recently added donations and support and attention to the Nazario Marine case and just recently gave donations to a Hispanic wife and mother and now widow and childless who lost her family to an illegal gang murder, there's others I just can't remember them all.
I don't think a 'fake' conservative could be bothered with these causes much less bring attention to these injustices to a vast conservative audience on their radio program, not shabby I guess for being a fake conservative, huh?
