I do know one thing, if McCain is elected and Palin turns out to be an able administrator, a refreshing conservative voice, and a clear asset to the administration, Savage will admit he was wrong.

In a choice between the twits and wastes of "conservative" human skin we've had running the Republican party over the past several years and a relative "unknown" from Alaska, I'll take Palin.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the qualifications to be president consist of being a natural born citizen and being at least 35 years of age.

If there was one, just one, also-ran with the moral qualification to have been chosen I'd like to know who it was. Save Thompson. But, he really never wanted the job, anyway.

Palin's words today displayed a fire in the belly few other Republicans can muster. Palin sure seems to be as good a public speaker as Obama, with a better American sensibility appeal than Obama.

For all she ain't, at least she ain't a typical national insider nitwit so generously represented in the 'pub party.

Palin was my pick all along. I simply believed that McCain needed someone other than an old, white man, or even a young, white man for VP.

All you infidels can think what you want about this Palin pick, but women by nature do not lean conservative, how many conservative women in Congress speak with a refreshing conservative voice? How many as Governors? I don't know any.

Palin could be the first but after hearing her voice on Savage for the first time talking about her being a hockey mom, I'm worried, talking about a position above someone's paygrade, reminds me of the mom with tennis shoes, Patty Murray, running for the Senate and winning in Washington State and we know what a disaster she turned out to be.

Too bad her prospective boss is McCain. It seems to me that the ticket is upside down, but such is American politics today.

'Relative unknown'

And thats Savage's argument, why pick an unknown in a skirt when you have better picks out there, oh well whats done is done, I'm more in tune with Savage's way of thinking on this than most on here, funny I'm not surprised.

Let me be clear. I do not object to putz (I think it is) when talking about McCain, Bush, or anyone generally believed to be already "one of us." Dummy and similar names are fine, too.

Of course calling the enemy any name imaginable is just fine.

"Transgender with a cross" is a shock. Given Gov. Palin's athlete abilities I could just hear a similar transgender characterization -- perhaps that will come if Gov. Palin too acts friendly toward BOR.

Speaking of men who like women in charge, what, your momma let you out late to play today, the show is over and the thread for all intents and purposes is about over too.

the worst thing about Romney is the delusion too many Freepers have-had about him,,,, even Glenn Beck, though, had givenup on Romney. —— I’m STILL trying to think of my IDEAL pick for v.p., I think it would have to be Hunter, too

Unknown in a skirt?

Not sure where you're going with that one.

The name of this game is victory. Palin is Conservative. Palin has the bona fides of ethics and corruption fighting. Palin is not an insider. Palin is a maverick in many ways.

Initial reactions to Palin's choice is positive, from many sides. Especially the disaffected Clinton supporters. If this choice translates into votes, it will be a victory at least *I* can live with. An Obama victory spells death to us all.

Bud, 57 posts in, and you’re the sole dissenter, the sole supporter of Weiner’s view... Give it up already... You’re both so wrong

Duncan Hunter is qualified, but very unknown, and too principled to have a slick money machine.

We want the same things, victory for sure, but was this the only route to victory?

I don't expect McCain to champion conservative values, and I don't want an unknown, unproven female Quayle type wife and mother of 5 from Alaska thrust into the forefront of conservatism to articulate hopefully the conservative message either.

Of course there may be upsides to that with the womens vote, but the repercussions of having her as a step away from being this nations' Commander-In-Chief is not something that will cause me to sleep peacefully at night. Maybe if it were Ann Coulter, Laura ingraham or Tammy Bruce, I might feel a lot better bout things.

Personally, I think Savage, if he’s serious, jumped the shark on this one. Can you imagine if McCain chose Romney? Mikey would be whining about Mitt only bringing in the polygamist vote and Utah’s electoral votes.

Hunter's opposition to amnesty ensured that he would never be a GOP presidential nominee.

You are such a clue-less wonder aren't you? I don't listen to Savage because he spouts views that are always popular and I don't post things on a Savage thread to be part of any majority view, so I'm a lone dissenter, boo-frickin-hoo, does that make me wrong?

I stand with Savage and feel much better about it anyday than standing with the likes of you and other Savage haters, if I'd ever agreed with you on anything against Savage I'd truly have to wonder if maybe I'm on the wrong side of the issue.
