I think we have a lot of premature exhilaration going on here before the facts are in. People want to stand behind a candidate against Obama so bad, they're not stopping to think. And Palin is a cut above McCain, experience or not, BUT she's not on the top of the ticket, so it doesn't really matter (unless he drops dead in Feb '09).
I would beg to differ with your assessment as to how much it matters.
This gives her almost a lock on being the next GOP nominee for President, I want that person to be strongly against Amnesty or the GOP does not get my vote this year.
Abortion, Amnesty, and Global Warming are together my "line in the sand" with respect to the GOP and the support I give them.

Is she against amnesty? I haven't been able to find a thing about her stance on it.
