Reminds me of the joke about the drill sergeant yelling and berating his troops. He storms up to one young man and yells directly in his ear, “I know you hate me! I don’t give a damn. I WANT you hate me! I want you to hate me so bad that you take a blood oath to find me after you’re out of the service and kill me in the slowest and most painful way you can! You know you do, go ahead and admit it!!!!!”

The young man replies, “NO SIR!”. The sergeant’s response is, “Don’t you lie to me, boy!” Without hesitation, the young man responds, “My blood oath is that once I’m out of service I’ll NEVER do anything that makes me stand in a long line!”

Reading this reminds me of how awful cancer is.

Why did Billy Carter have to die from cancer? Why could it not have been Billy's stupid brother who was the worst President in my lifetime?

this isn't quite on topic but I would like some help/info on the attacks that have been made against McCain for his POW time. Especially in this interview. I have no intention of swallowing the Vietnam Veterans Against McCain line whole and am not trying to attack him myself, I just haven't been able to find much outside perspective on the issue.
McCain's own accounts show him violating the Code of Conduct to some degree (under duress) but is there any real evidence of serious collaboration? Any truth to the accusations that he's trying to block publication of any documents that might contradict his own account (the only one available for most of his captivity)? What of McCain's kind words for Kerry? his condemnation of the Swift Boat Vets? Is this being taken seriously by conservatives? Are there reasons that it shouldn't be?
If anyone has links or cares to educate me by FReepmail, I'd much appreciate it.
