Younger delegates are complaining that most of the songs being piped into the Pepsi Center are not-so-golden oldies from the '80s and earlier.

But hip-hop star Big Boi, chronicling the confab for Internet radio outlet Interactive One, went easy on the geezers and wheezers, saying "we may have to ease them into" his 21st century rap music.

The American Kennel Club is closely watching whom Barack Obama will pick as his family's canine "running" mate.

Obama promised his daughters the family will adopt a dog, but since one of the girls is allergic, it has to be a hypoallergenic breed. In the club's online poll, the poodle narrowly beat out the soft-coated wheaten terrier.

Despite efforts to stop rampant scalping, tickets for tonight's Obama speech are being hawked online for up to $1,000.

"We have worked with eBay and Craigslist to make sure they are not sold," a Dem spokeswoman said.

Convention goers cheered efforts to go green - until saving the environment became inconvenient.

An army of volunteers has had to rummage through the garbage after delegates failed to separate and properly deposit trash into bins labeled "landfill," "compost" and recyclables.

HA! i love the last one...

The music at conventions has certainly changed. I never once heard “Happy Days are Here Again,” the 1930 chart topper that became a Democrat anthem that was played at DNC’s for decades. Perhaps someone should do a rap version of this tune.
<p.
When I attended the RNC in Kansas City ikn 1976, a brass band would play a candidate’s state theme song, college alma mater football song, etc. when he got up to speak.

i loved the old white people dancing to will.i.am and john legend. people who would instantly turn the radio station if they heard these performers' songs.

and the old black people acting like they had any idea who sheryl crow is.

I thought the song that came before the Clinton speech “Chain of Fools” and the one played as he walked off “Addicted to Love” were perfect and fitting.

I was asking myself, is there a Republican playing the music and laughing his head off doing so?

I was actually laughing at that cartoon, until I noticed it was by Ted Rall, and that spoiled it for me.
