Senator Barack Obama will promise change — and spells out specifics such as tax cuts for the middle class — as he accepts the Democratic presidential nomination tonight.

__________________________________________________________

The last I heard, his plan simply didn’t raise taxes on middle-income families. When did he lay out a specific plan to cut middle-income taxes? Also, what does he define as middle-income?

This guy has not been senator for one term, and he thinks that he will do any of this laundry list of what big papa government is gonna give you?

Party of Kennedy, my ass, because I dont see where we are asked not what our country can do for you.

He’d better at least do some juggling and/or that plates-spinning-on-a-bunch-of-sticks thing during the speech or it’s not going to work.

This scum pretends that our country is in jeopardy from within when it is the terrorists who threaten our lifestyle, our security, and our economy.

We are a better country than this?

Excuse me? I wasn’t aware that were were not a great country?

Exactly what are we a better country than?

The one where a refugee from the Sudan can be brought to these shores, put up in a home, and go through college and graduate with honors?

The one where a couple of kids in a garage can make a computer program into one of the richest companies on Earth.

The one that can send machines to the far corners of space?

The one where people can be critical of the government without fear of jail or torture?

*Except if you make and ad with Ayers in it.

The one where men and women volunteer to wear the uniform of this “lousy” country to go overseas to defend it and to free oppressed.

The nation that continues to inspire enslaved peoples of the world to aspire for freedom and liberty?

The one that only millionaire liberals seem to want to leave but millions want to get in?

The one with so much creativity that we entertain the world?

The one where women can live free and safe from repression.

The one where we can worship our God without fear of death.

The one where the limits of your greatness is limited by only the limits of your imagine.

The one where the grandson of a sharecropper from the Jim Crow south is so free today that I dont have to look to you for “hope” or salvation because my skin tone happens to match yours.

This is a nation not of kings or messiahs, no gods among us, but of men. Free Americans.

In that, Obama can there be no nation better than.

America, we are better than these last eight years. We are a better country than this.

Good God - they want to elect my Great Aunt Mildred. I can see Bambi's finger shaking.

He's running against Bush. Can't say he wasn't warned.

“...and more are working harder for less.”

Maybe if you stop taxing us to death.....that might help. I think of how hard I work, how much of it gets taken from me and flushed down the government rat hole....and for what?!

Is Obama saying that it is the fault of America that idiots have credit card debt they can’t pay? Who exactly made them spend too much and who made people take out mortgages on properties they actually could never afford? It seems Obama wants the government to be responsible for total care of idiots who can’t manage money.

“This moment – this election – is our chance to keep, in the 21st century, the American promise alive. Because next week, in Minnesota, the same party that brought you two terms of George Bush and Dick Cheney will ask this country for a third. And we are here because we love this country too much to let the next four years look just like the last eight. On November 4th, we must stand up and say: “Eight is enough.”
Obama's promising folks some Diff'rent Strokes.

I just turned on Fox (9:05) and what a bunch of BS as Mike McDonald tries desperately and fails in every conceivable aspect of imitating Ray Charles in his rendition of America right down to the tempo, accompaniment, mannerisms and warbly voice.

Worst yet was his dedication to (paraphrasing as I thought I would get sick) to "all those who want our country back."

Hey, Mickey, you ain't Ray and you suck!!!

If this is any indication of how this night is going to be, its going to be a 5 refill, adult beverage night!!!
