ABC producer arrested outside Brown Palace

A producer for ABC News was arrested today as he and a camera crew set up on the sidewalk outside the Brown Palace Hotel.

Asa Eslocker was arrested for trespass, interference and failure to obey an lawful order.

He was being processed from the Denver City Jail and is expected to be released on $300 bail, said his attorney Tom Kelley.

Eslocker is investigating the role of corporate lobbyists and wealthy donors at the convention for a series of Money Trail reports on ABC World News.

"The Brown's security guy got all upset and was telling them he owns the sidewalk around the Brown Palace," Kelley said.

"There's a vast difference between his story and the story cops are telling," Kelley said. "He was set up on a public sidewalk. He was doing an investigative piece and was told he could not be on the public sidewalk in front of the Brown Palace Hotel. We don't think that should have happened."

Kelley said ABC and the police both have video of the arrest.

He was put in handcuffs, loaded into the back of a police van and taken to city jail.

Not one here, attacking ABC. To the contrary; support ‘Free Press’ always. I AM hoping that MSM and Leftist’s et al; wherever they speak from; can see the underlying threat posed by ‘their own’ but am not sure they - or at least, enough of them - can.

Do believe that and easily. . .CNN, is a total Leftist implosion. Sadly, an ignorance that celebrates itself around the world.

And yes, always appreciated the now 'almost' old GuardConservative/Moderate voices'. Enjoy John Stossel and remember as well his demonization by his Leftist media peers when he stepped out a bit further. . .and beyond.

Have not yet seen ABC's response to this violation against Asa Eslocker; but will 'check it out'. . .

This Asa guy seems pretty decent. Of course, that should have nothing to do with the fact that the police were acting like thugs.

I know this is an old story, but I just happened on the video and did a search on www.dogpile.com to see if there was more info on this Asa Eslocker. I read one of his articles from 2006--he quoted "jihadwatch" in it. I went back to dogpile and found this post on FR, so I naturally came to read it.

I was kinda surprised by all the comments. We all obviously can't stand the liberal media, but I've liked Freerepublic for the last 8 years because people on here are good at getting ALL the information. Just because he's got a job with ABC doesn't mean he has to be liberal.

Actually, it would be great if a liberal would have been treated like that at a DNC function--they might realize what they're in for in an Obamanation...
