When she made that statement last night, I wondered if she was speaking to Barack... as if she were the KKK...

I was thinking along the same lines. Maybe she was evoking the image of a lynch mob, very subtlely raising the race factor (again) to remind the audience of his unelectibility and setting herself up for 2012, while at the same time appearing to be firmly supportive.

Sort of like when she "praised" the Biden selection as bringing energy into the campaign. Talk about damnation by faint praise. I just can't believe that Hillary doesn't want to sabotage him, but it can't be obvious. I'll bet the Klintoons will vote for McCain.

On the off chance that Obama wins (looking less and less likely) he'd spend his entire four years fending off Hillary-- and everything else.

Doris Kearns Goodwin (leftist) wrote an amazing book about Lincoln called 'Team of Rivals'. It details Lincoln's predicament: he was the last choice of his party, surrounded by ambitious, craven men. He did the only thing he could have done-- he made them his cabinet. By the end of his term they were almost to a man his staunchest allies. Read it, and amaze yourself at how small this barack obama really is.
