Scuse me but I could not let your comment pass without my comment. The Hollywood crowd in WWII did much more than sell war bonds and entertain. Most men signed up and served in combat. John Wayne dodged the draft and made great movies while other actors were dying in defense of their country.

Grow up.

I don’t know how Wayne dodged the draft, but it was something that plagued him throughout his assoication with Director John Ford. Ford never let him forget it. I’d be interested in knowing why/how Wayne did not enlist like his friend Jimmy Stewart. But even still, Wayne with his larger than life legend has yet to be successfully burned by liberal Hollywood. I’ll take my John Wayne over Alec Baldwin anyday.

Actually, Jimmy’s best friend was Henry Fonda. They never talked politics. LOL I was merely commenting that actors in that era did go into combat and that John Wayne shouldn’t be idolized for acting in war movies.
