A Cantor selection would make it a Western Southern ticket. The Bush Cheney ticket was the opposite - Southern Western. That would anchor down the South and the Mountain West states for the GOP in the fall.

Cantor doesn’t have any baggage from the 2008 primaries. IMO he would be satisfactory to a very large swath of the GOP while alientating very little.
