I think it would be a political mistake this year for McCain to pick a WASP man as his VP. Instead, Palin, Cantor, or maybe Jindal. Boldness here would pay off. What if in the Ford-Carter race Ford had chosen Anne Armstrong as he had considered doing?

I think political correctness should be avoided. It would be a mistake for McCain to choose someone because of their gender or their color. The only thing he should be concerned about is whether his Veep can serve as President in case he won't live out two terms in the Oval Office. And he would want some one young and energetic to shoulder much of the burden of policy so he can attend to the big tasks.

Comments like yours make my blood boil. Since when are conservatives looking at someone based on factors other than how well he or she can do the job? Why should someone be vetoed as a prospective running mate for McCain simply because he was born to a white Christian family?

Boldness here would pay offI agree. Palin or Cantor. We need young, dynamic conservatives who embrace all three legs of the conservative stool. Because of Palins persoanl story she would energize pro life youth like nobody has ever done before.
Cantor is also young, dynamic, pro life and exceptionally bright.
I'm with you here. Go bold!

Palin and Jindal aren’t quite ready and picking them would be perceived as pandering. Cantor I think is the better alternative on both counts.
