Old school Commies were far tougher than the current crop of teenaged Trotskys and Lenin wannabes. Even the 1960s hippie antiwar protesters would go down fighting. A lot of the anarchist tactics are standard leftist operating procedures going back to the days of the IWW, down to the cries of police brutality and the use of fecal matter. The main difference is that the modern day protesters lack the stamina and physical courage of their forbears.
