Fox News Alert
MAJOR problem with national air traffic...specifically flight plan system....All air traffic halted, nationally.
Fox’s on a commercial break 3:37 EST, but are expected to clarify. Tune in. (Shep)
WHAT?
My granddaughter is flying back to college today. As are many thousands of kids.
What the heck is going on?
CNN reporting limited arrivals and departure now taking place. Planes being released as flight plans are re-approved. But it’s going to be a very long rest of the day.
Russian or Chinese hackers?
My question - what’s happening in the air? Is this affecting in-fight operations or landings? Prayers for those who potentially are going to be affected by this issue...
Did somebody hack the system?
I hate to say it, but CNN is far superior to FOX on this type of story, and it’s being proven right now.
Here we go again..... Wonder if there was a group of jihadis captured trying to board a flight with bad intent?
All radars and communications are normal. Limited arrivals and departures allowed. But there are a large number of flights in holding patterns.
They’ve broken in on Fox twice to say major major problem with communication.
FAA failure in flight plan system. Originating in Atlanta, affecting entire east coast. Say they have not lost contact with flights, but is a serious communication problem. FAA WEST tells Fox they have no idea what is going on. “Landing planes as fast as they can” - Harris Faulkner, Fox
That’s because this sort of story doesn’t give them an opportunity to say Rocky Mountain Oysters....
susie
Nothing on Drudge yet..... FR first in the blogosphere again.
ping
CNN is covering it live and is simultcasting with all the airports to assist passengers.
Computer glich in Atlanta.
Sounds like when FR is down but no back at yahoo for the airlines.
Computers are not allowing any flight plans to be made.
Affecting flights nationwide.

FAA computer problems affecting flights nationwide
DESERT SUN STAFF AUGUST 26, 2008
The latest:
“A glitch in the Federal Aviation Administration computer system is affecting flights across the country right now, according to CNN and the FAA sources commenting on the television news show.
The computer problem is with how flight plans are processed, and is causing delays. More than 5,000 flights are airborne now, according to CNN. Planes are in holding patterns now.
The Desert Sun willl bring you the latest on this developing story. We are also contacting the Palm Springs International Airport to see how flights are affected there.”
Not the kind of headline you want to see. Flashbacks of 9-11.
Just a guess but I’d go with the Russians.
Reynolds Foil on the standby. Remember....shiny side out.
