When Republicans are running to the left, why should conservatives or very-conservatives bother to vote for them?

What is the alternative? Not vote? I vote for the most conservative alternative that is nominated, whether they are conservative enough to suit me or not.

Well, depending on the race the most conservative alternative might be the Democrat, the way the Republicans had been spending like drunken sailors in the years leading up to 2006.

My Senator in Oregon, Gordon Smith, is the last republican senator left on the left coast. The dems are targeting him big time. I do not intend to vote for him, because right after the surge last year or so, he came out against the war. Made a big press announcement about it, it was all over the press, the libs talked it up.

His campaign called me within months of that betrayal and I told them to pound sand. I told them this was the single most important issue of the day for R's to stick together and watch the surge work and Smith whimped out, to get elected. His stance against the war was all about re-election. I am not going to vote for that sleaze ball, he is going down!!!
