Dude, dont forget, Rosalyn is on our side. We may disagree on this, but we are in the same foxhole.
My FRiend, her post #162 speaks volumes:
"If its Huckabee, I will be campaigning for Obama."
Any FReeper who would state they would campaign for a Muslim-Marxist radical because they didn't like the GOP candidate's VP pick, ain't on MY side, and I submit: isn't on your side either.
I hope she's just having a bad day.

I would say in this special case the VP has influence. McCain would most likely be a one term president due to his age. His VP would be the presumptive Republican nominee in 2012.

LOL! I thought you were an old timer on FR? Are we now not allowed to call um as we sees um?

And if you’ve bothered to read my reasons WHY I so vehemently dislike Huckabee (search the debate threads and you’ll see), you’d understand my comment. You may not agree with it, but you would certainly understand.

Recall how revealing it was that only one of two dozen fellow officers in Kerry's Swift Boat unit supported him? And how everybody else was committed to defeating his sorry ass?
Understand that there is little liklihood that Carly Fiorina would get more than the odd vote or two out of Hewlett-Packard employees.
Both cases are instructive about a person's suitability for high office.

Let’s hope McCain sees it that way, or more importantly, the GOP. For me, there are so few right now that would be good additions to the ticket that would be great on their own in 2012 and beyond. I love Jindal, Palin, Rice and Hunter. And keep an eye on that wonderful guy in Florida who’s running for a seat there. I forget his name, but he has military experience, is a die hard conservative, and... he’s black. He could do great things.

"I also believe that the people he surrounds himself with will be far more trustworthy than the people Obama surrounds himself with" Doesn't McCain have some pro illegal immigration Mexican guy with dual citizenship as one of his advisers? Who could trust him?

Call ‘em as you see ‘um is one thing. Calling someone ugly as a turd (especially when I disagree) is over the top. And of course, I am the arbiter of all things aesthetic. ;-)

I’m pretty sure the governor reference was to Sarah Palin.

Now you really had to think to come up with that. I must agree with you. It's a twisted path to desirable destination.
To: webrover
So does Obama, but McCain also has folks like Petraeus.

Yes we do, and I DO understand your reasons for not liking Huckleberry Hound, and I don't like him either.
Now look here FRiend, I want to think we're on the same page when it comes to NOT seeing Obama elected President. We can snarl and flame each other for days here, I'm up for anything but the fact is, I think we are both intelligent enough to recognize that we need to save our ammo for Obama, yes?
Please tell me you wouldn't really campaign for, or vote for that beige bozo? That is my bottom line in this. Hell Rosalyn, I don't like John McCain too much, never did. But if it's a choice between McCain and Obama, it's like choosing indigestion over botulism, I can take some TUMs for indigestion, you know what I mean?
I'm not saying you have to love John McCain or even like the SOB, but he's OUR SOB (if we are Republicans who don't want to see a Marxist in the White House), and we ought to vote for him, whether or not we have to hold our nose.
Right now, I extend the olive branch. You can accept it, or smack me upside the head with it, and we'll continue on.
I'd rather see you expending your fury in the direction of Obama, not McCain.
Back to you.

Mitt Romney please!
Mitt was on FOX a few minutes ago with Cavuto and was really good. He is so well spoken and sharp. Cavuto was trying to get info from him about the VP pick and Mitt was able to skirt around the issue without acting coy. He would be so good as our VP.

UGLY AS A TURD???AS COMPARED TO WHOM? McCAIN?
To: newheart
OK, I'll redact to *turd* thing but, I stand beside my other opinions. She's NOT qualified by any stretch of the imagination.

What need do we have for a man like the general in country that will have no borders? What is left to defend?
