That is what it looked like on the local news. They showed the hotel with a broken window. It was a long way down...

We naturally suspect the Dems of putting on a show since that is about all they can do — dress up their empty suit candidates to look good for public appeal.

Maybe this story is legit. Maybe these guys really were just a bunch of methed up punks out to shoot Obama. Or maybe this is all staged. We don’t know.

What we do know is that, staged or real, Obama’s campaign will milk this for all it’s worth. They’ll use this to launch a new round of ‘white guilt’ attacks. They’ll blame conservative talk radio hosts and Internet columnists for this. They’ll blame Bush and McCain. They’ll try to associate anyone who opposes Obama for any reason with violent white supremacist groups. Be warned.

Has anyone ever noticed how many times these sort of people are caught because they did something really STUPID like driving erraticly in this case?

Maybe they don’t really want to carry through with their plan so the stupidity factor kicks in.

Subsequently authorities went to the Cherry Creek Hotel to contact an associate of Gartrell's. But that man, who was wanted on numerous warrants, jumped out of a sixth floor hotel window. Law enforcement sources say the man broke an ankle in the fall and was captured moments later. Sources say he was wearing a ring with a swastika, and is thought to have ties to white supremacist organizations.

I was thinking — if this is a hoax by the Dems to garner sympathy, maybe the larger motivation would be an excuse to move BO’s speech into the convention center — thus avoiding the problem of not being able to control the hecklers. It would also add drama to the speech with everyone saying: what a terrible, racists country we live in. If only we had a black president then we could prove to the Europeans that we are a civilized place.
