Social-networking platform MySpace will be at this weeks Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Denver, Colorado as the company has prepped a space with big name celebrities expected to visit.
According to the Denver Post, the popular group has chosen The Corner Office, a restaurant-martini bar, downtown to make its headquarters and offer a non-virtual social activity spot during the four-night event.
We figured a café was a place where people could gather, congregate, recharge and connect, MySpace executive producer Lee Brenner told the Post.
While not featuring as many guests as the actual DNC, movie stars Jessica Alba and Rosario Dawson are both expected to make appearances at the café while hip-hop superstar Nelly is scheduled to perform on Tuesday evening (August 26) from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
As previously reported by SOHH, today marks the first official start to the DNC, where the political party will official announce presidential hopeful Barack Obama as their candidate. Not only has Obama received the informal approval from many leaders in the hip-hop community, but also with civil rights activist and Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN) co-founder Dr. Benjamin Chavis.
I see Barack Obama in the context of the evolution of hip-hop, Chavis told SOHH. When Barack took his recent world tour, the reason why so many young people came out in all those countries is because the way young people feel about the United States is theyre shaped more by hip-hop than by [President] George Bush.
The convention will feature performances from Kanye West, Pharrell Williams group N.E.R.D. and Wyclef Jean.
Avoiding a court appearance in Connecticut.
Nelly has paid out $20,000 to a photographer who accused the star's security guards of assaulting him.
According to reports, freelance photographer Brian Jones, 39, had accused one of the rapper's security personnel, Brian Jones, of escorting him to the edge of the stage and 'violently hitting him', causing serious injuries, during a concert at the Bridgeport Arena, Connecticut. Livingstone was reportedly cleared to be taking photographs backstage at the time, although the bodyguards allegedly believed he was filming the tape illegally.
Livingstone still has lawsuits posted against the city of Bridgeport and the Bridgeport Arena, over the July 12, 2005 concert incident, reports the Associated Press.
Who is Nelly?
Another gang banging rapper.

Good God, raise the voting age or something! Vote based on “hipness” is no way to pick a president.
60 would be about right.
