I suspected that this “ great sacrifice “ was probably equal to a car ride around a major city.
Agree on them getting the credit for all the research, speeches that others prepare. This comes out when they don’t have an ear piece available, and they really have to speak for themselves.

Justo one other thought about this whole “Joe Biden commute” thing. The aspect of a commute like his (and mine back then) that matters is NOT how long you are on the train but how you get home from the station once you arrive. I had another 55 minutes on two city buses. Betcha Joe gets picked up at the station in a gas guzzler and is whisked home (or parks his guzzler at the station and carbon-footprints his way back to the mansion).
