In June, the Obama campaign released a digitally scanned image of his birth certificate to quell speculative charges that he might not be a natural-born citizen. But the image prompted more blog-based skepticism about the document's authenticity. And recently, author Jerome Corsi, whose book attacks Obama, said in a TV interview that the birth certificate the campaign has is "fake."

We beg to differ. FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as "supporting documents" to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said.

This picture answers many of the questions about the original "proof", namely the lack of a Certificate Number and the raised seal. As a SWAG, the Certificate Number consists of a hospital id, the date, and a sequence number. Obviously the first image was edited by Photoshop to remove the certificate number, at the very least.

This seems to suggest that the state of Hawaii thinks he was born there. However "151" may mean "Born at Home", instead of a hospital, and 4 days is plenty of time to move him from Kenya (say) to the US after birth. This also does not answer questions about what his stay in Indonesia, and the fact that he might actually be a naturalized Indonesian citizen.

There is no better proof of Obama’s US citizenship than the Hillary did not bring it up in the primary campaigns. I'm certain Hillary's minions looked for all the dirt on Obama and would never have left such a knockout on the table.

Obama losing this election badly will send a very strong message.

Having "The Chosen One" disqualified would martyr him to millions who would never accept his disqualification as "fair." It's the kind of thing that could trigger race riots.

The birth certificate issue is a mountain of distraction for nothing.

Are there any political fact checking websites that are legit. as far as dissecting information that is being floated? I looked at Politichek but didn’t like it. Since this came out about factcheck.org I was wondering if there was one that wasn’t biased. I googled but didn’t find anything. Is there anyone who uses one that they like?

If both Obama's parents were foreign-born, the public might be skeptical of a possibly doctored birth certificate but that is a political question.

The state of Hawaii apparently has determined he was born in Hawaii, to a mother who was an American citizen.

Unless the state of Hawaii is compelled to reverse its position through a legal proceeding, the matter is moot.

Birth records are not a federal matter and I can't see any federal court allowing a challenge to a birth certificate lawfully issued by a state.

That speaks for itself

11.) Office of Presidency is above his paygrade

This is a bigger issue due to the total unreliability of the Media including FactCheck.org to do the job of vetting a Presidential candidate that has lied and obscured his history. This is a job for the USDOJ now that the question has remained unanswered by the seeker of the office.
I am glad that a lawsuit has been filed and hope it will provide the answer to this question before the election!

Pissant, the author of this piece, Jessica Henig, is the daughter of Robin Marantz Henig, who writes for the NY Times and WaPo. A fine science writer but very much a liberal.
