In June, the Obama campaign released a digitally scanned image of his birth certificate to quell speculative charges that he might not be a natural-born citizen. But the image prompted more blog-based skepticism about the document's authenticity. And recently, author Jerome Corsi, whose book attacks Obama, said in a TV interview that the birth certificate the campaign has is "fake."
We beg to differ. FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as "supporting documents" to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said.

I was a skeptic at first but frankly Obama needs to answer the charges and frankly I couldn’t care less what factcheck thinks.

I agree. This whole birth certificate issue isn’t a detour worth taken.
Obama released a forged COLB. That is a fact. And so called “Fact Check” is full of BS.
It will all come out with the current lawsuits being filed regarding this.
I’m sure Barack’s birth certificate is *just* as genuine as the Chinese gymnast’s.
I have no problem in focusing on the presumptuous one, Hussein(peace on him) and his MARXIST philosophy.
He is not fit to serve in this country as dog catcher, much less as POTUS.
Factcheck appears to have a good case. However, I’d like to know if any of the “researchers” the produced this report once worked for 1) any of the networks or 2) any of the MSM. If the answer is yes for either, I withdraw my trust, since these clowns have repeatedly demonstrated their lack of talent, ability, and honesty.
While I think Obama should and will be defeated on an issues and character based campaign, the irony would be TOO sweet if he was disqualified over this.
In his first State Senate campaign in Illinois, he had all four of his opponents disqualified on signature challenges, including the woman who had paved the way for him to take her seat and introduced him to all the “right” people. (She was leaving her State Senate seat to move up to a Illinois congressional spot, but lost...she tried to get back into the race and was tossed out, Obama refused to step aside and had her signature list challenged...:)
So yeah, I agree with you on one level. But it would be lots of fun to see him say “But...but...but...” as it dawns on him he is going to be disqualified on a technical challenge. He had no problem at all doing it to others...

I don’t like the precedent being set here. Seems like birth citizenship should be proven without a doubt before a candidate is even allowed to enter the race.
Why, if it had access to the original documents, didn’t Factcheck.org simply provide complete front-and-back high-res scans? Why only a single photograph of the front being held aloft at an angle, and why only excerpts of the seal and signature, which could have come from anywhere?
My understanding is that the picture as posted by Obama’s c campaign is identical to the forged one, but cropped.
The Republican party doesn’t need to waste its time. Just send some dedicated and intelligent volunteers out on this, and continue on with the campaign with no further attention to it, unless those folks return with a fish.
They don’t really need that fish, though. There are plenty of torpedoes out there to sink the SS Obama.

This is the same thing Jean Kerri did with his military records, when the Swift Boaters, more than a hundred honorable veterans, demanded that he should release his Form 180.
Instead, kerry provided SOME of his military records to two of his most trusted left-wing friends in the media, and lo and behold they said he was clean! Only trouble was, Kerry still refused to release his full records.

Walter Annenberg was an honorable man, as was pointed out on another thread, but many of the organizations he donated to have become tools of the left. Obama and his good friend Ayres the Pentagon bomber ran such a left wing organization at the U of Chicago, also an Annenberg outfit.
In other words, these are Obama’s left-wing associates, busy lying for their buddy. If there were any truth to this story, then why does Obama still refuse to release his birth certificate? These guys claim to have “seen” it. So, where is it? Why won’t Obama give permission for some trusted neutral party to approach the state of Hawaii and get the actual, certified documents?
This is nothing but a lying scam, unless Obama can PROVE otherwise. Repeating it and repeating it means nothing. Let’s see the Form 180. Let’s see the certified birth records. Let’s see the proof that Obama, an Indonesian citizen, filled out the papers to reclaim American citizenship.
Factcheck.org admits they have not seen the ORIGINAL birth certificate. What they have seen and touched is a modern era “short form” that was created many decades later.
They “never got an answer” from Hawaii why they cannot see the original long form birth certificate (they themselves did raise the distinction and “pose” the question).
