I would refer any whack jobs and other Freepers to the note at the bottom of the list:
^Three senators do not have scores for 2007 because they missed more than half of the rated votes in an issue area: John McCain, R-Ariz., who was running for president; Tim Johnson, D-S.D., who was recuperating from a brain hemorrhage and returned to work on September 5, 2007; Craig Thomas, R-Wyo., who died on June 4, 2007; and John Barrasso, R-Wyo., who was appointed to succeed Thomas on June 22, 2007.
McCain is unrated because he's been on the campaign trail most of the year. My guess at his rating is that he's one of the most conservative on foreign policy, slightly more conservative than average on economic policy, and dead center on social policy. With McCain running against #1 and #3, I'm willing to tolerate his record.

I noticed that too, but my reaction was more along the lines of how Obama managed to be rated, seeing as how he too was running for his party's nomination for POTUS in 2007 . . .The issue being, of course, that if you subtract the part of the time that Obama has been running for POTUS from his Senate experience, he has very little actual Senate experience. And, of course, no executive experience. At all. McCain at least reached the rank of admiral (tho he declined the appointment in order to enter politics), so he has some executive experience. Obama's "private sector" experience is as a professional complainer - "community organizer."
The rats needed to balance the ticket with a more conservative senator so they can win the South and Mid West. This is why they went down to Abortion Joe Biden-Biden.
Well, that settles it. I guess we can expect Washington DC to vote for the (d) ticket this fall.

Just three hours after the Obama campaign sent out its text announcement, the McCain campaign rolled out its first ad this morning, using Senator Joe Bidens own words during the primary season about Senator Barack Obama.

I am sure Bama went out his way to vote in the senate while he should have been campaigning for the very reason that he has so little a voting record. McCain didn’t have that problem.
