Video Series about Silencing Christians - Speechless - episode #7 - re: the Fairness Doctrine - was just on with Janet Parshall - interviewing Mike Pense, Congressman, discussing a measure before Congress NOW to ensure the resurrection of the Fairness Doctrine does not happen.

Link is to episode 7 of this series - yes you have to "sign in" to be able to access these episodes - but not a big deal.

Point is: Fairness doctrine likely WILL BE brought back into play in the next Congress - and/or by the President - should that person be a Dem - who can bring it back by executive order.

Result? Silencing Christians, Silencing Conservatives

This group is fighting the Fairness Doctrine's "resurrection" ....standing FOR the ability to continue to teach and preach the truth of the Life, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ - and what that means to our society.

This might be considered a vanity but did not how else to post it....worth a look over given the "UnFairness" doctrine that we know is lurking out there in the hinterlands of the totalitarians - some in both parties - but mostly among the liberalissimos in the Democommie party.

Found this about the measure being proposed in Congress about permanently legislating into oblivion the “Fairness Doctrine”...

“The Media Research Center is leading the effort to expose and defeat these efforts. The Broadcaster Freedom Act (H.R. 2905) — a bill in Congress that would ban permanently”

Has an ACTION website to petition Congress to get this measure to the floor...

Are we balzy enough to simply disobey the edict if it occurs? Our forefathers did. Perhaps this might be the impetus to virtually destroy both the networks and broadcast radio (not by bombs, but by simple abandonment). Satellite radio will perhaps come into its own. I - for one - will simply not EVER tune in to any broadcast station if “fairness” is implemented.

This is relevant to the Campaign issues going on now - not just for President but for Congress and Senate -

Here is article from 2007 - saying this issue should “heat up” again as the elections go forward this year....

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=56509

Elect a Dem if you want “unfairness” doctrine reinstated.

Work, support, vote for those who will endorse the bill to permanently ban the “fairness doctrine”....

Christians, conservatives, unite.

Of course the issue that fueled the “talk” of bringing this unfairness doctrine back was the immigration issue especially - but the enemies of truth HATE conservative talk radio and Christian talk radio....and want us SILENCED!

our forefathers “balzyness” made it possible for us to prevent such affronts to liberty from happening.

The problem is the radio stations would remove the conservative talk radio programs from their lineup if the “fairness doctrine” came back rather than book liberal talkies to balance the conservative talkies...that’s what was happening back in 1987....before it was ended....and it would happen again.

Would people fight it?

Yes, because we have the internet. People would just turn to the internet to hear their favorite talk shows.

However, without the RADIO presence, the impact would be greatly reduced, don’t you think?

I agree - I would do the same - not listen to any radio station that refused to host the conservative talk radio programs that we love.....

So that kind of protest could affect the radio station owners....but I remember when this doctrine was falling into reality back in the Reagan years .....

That was before Rush - before Sean - before the huge impact of talk radio had fully taken hold. But back then I remember the radio station owners all being intimidated into threats of removing their conservative talk radio programs from the air - IT CHILLED CONSERVATIVE TALK.

The other issue is Christian radio - which is a HUGE nad POWERFUL source of help in the electon fights every election cycle.

Programs like Focus on the Family, and Janet Parshall’s America program, D. James Kennedy’s Truths that Transform, and many others - would be also under threat to be removed from the air or be balanced (even though broadcast often by Christian broadcasters) with nonChristian programs to “balance” the Christian “point of view”.

The haters of freedom loathe such voices - especially Focus on the Family...but also many others.

They want them silenced.

And, of course, they want Free Republic shut down.

People would just turn to the Internet to hear their favorite talk shows.

Not likely! We would be silenced if the Democrats get their super majority plus the Presidency. This is the most important election since 1980 and the bleakest in prospects of any I have seen.

On August 12, 2008, FCC Commissioner Robert M. McDowell stated that the reinstitution of the Fairness Doctrine would be intertwined with the debate over net neutrality regulation of the Internet, presenting a danger that content controls will expand to the Internet.[18] It would also include "government dictating content policy".

OH my - had not seen that.

Yes this is the most important election since 1980.

For many reasons - this being one of them.

AS others have asked, what would “ordinary” Americans do if the anti-truth thugs take full power and start regulating talk radio and the internet?

I just don’t think enough would be willing to defy the government censors....and/or the money would dry up.....and the silencing would begin.

If we have to go to the Internet or satellites their America won. Our America lost. And we just got it back about 20 years ago!

The only difference between the days of liberal gatekeepers of information and issues would be that instead of going to a news shop and looking through racks of periodicals to find "the rest of the story" we'd be searching satellite radio and the Internet.

Searching is what we did in the 1960s through the 80s, who but the most news addicted are going to do that? The apolitical will stay glued to the TV and car radio.

TV subject to the "Fairness Doctrine?" OK. But to make it work you have to line up virtually every day to complain about each TV station's "unfairness." That's what liberal shills did against radio stations.

It's not so much that I want to save conservative talk radio it's that I cannot stand the thought of AM Top 40 coming back. :)

LOL - yes would expect the backlash to be HUGH for sure...but it would not matter - if they have the power - they will do it..bring back the un-fairness doctrine.
