I am starting to think that Biden was picked precisely because HE IS A ‘target rich’ candidate. In other words, the hope is that we will have so much to go after Biden on....that Obama will be left alone!

It is also a clever way for the Obama campaign to interject race into the campaign because it appears that Biden is a racist...lol

Agree, had that thought too. Ditto on using Biden to inject race back into the campaign. Picking Biden will be seen as "healing wounds" and, of course, Biden has a son in the National Guard heading for Iraq or Afghanistan. THESE are why Biden was picked because it SURE wasn't his charm--he's an BIGTIME CLYMER.
Obama desperately needs "foreign policy cred" and Biden had proved he is willing to vehemently counter-attack criticisms of Obambi and Democrats as "appeasers" etc.
Of course, we know that President Bush did not even mention Obama or any Democrat, but it is most "interesting" how they all immediately assumed the remark was about them!!
