Romney's Intrade VP contract promptly doubled with Halperin's post. Will be interesting to see if it plummets.

I would think McCain will pick someone he is fairly close to. But if Romney could flip Michigan, that would be a big obstacle for Obambi to overcome.

I like Mitt a lot-—he was my pick of the lot of sub-par candidates after Freddy T bombed. But NOW, I think there are other people who will not hurt McCain as much with some voters and help him more with others.

“NO VEEPSTAKES NEWS OVERNIGHT…..

Obama getting ready to announce his decision, with Democratic sources continuing to say “Watch Biden.”

2 Republican sources say McCain has apparently settled on Romney as his pick, but no offer has been made.

And/but: NY Times: “People close to the campaign also floated a wild-card choice, Gen. David H. Petraeus, the top American commander in Iraq.”

Plus: Politico reports McCain will hold a major rally with Romney, Huckabee in St. Louis the Sunday before the GOP convention.”

The only thing Slick Willard can flip is his position on any given issue on any given minute of any given day.

Romney was a choice that was floated with Halperin’s post. I’d say it floated like a led zepplin.

Next.

The problem with Mitt is the same problem Obama would have with Hillary...all of the neagtive ads they ran against each other.

Cantor should be the pick, Pawlenty if absolutely necessary.

...Pawlenty if absolutely necessary

Pawlenty is another global warming cultist.

I guess that fits with McCain's commitment to select someone who shares his "principles, values, and priorities."

It ought to be deleted, along with Slick Willard’s chances.

will not hurt McCain as much with some voters

The obsessed anti-Romney people are a small small percentage of conservative voters.

Yes, some are loud and strident and go ballistic whenever Romney's name is mentioned, but their numbers are so small.....

I'm not sure if it is class envy, Mormon hatred, or because Romney is smooth and handsome -- but there is a deep seated psychological sickness inherent in these anti-Romney people that is not needed, nor should it be wanted in the GOP.

I recall similar arguments around the dinner table about JFK's Roman Catholic faith when I was a youngster....

Now, people are seen as lunatics if they reject out-of-hand any candidate for simply being Catholic.

Picking Petraeus would cause thousands of liberal head to explode

Don’t you ever get tired of posting that crap ? This is a Conservative website. You can take your little lying, liberal, Presidential-whoring, bribing, sleazebag, used car salesman, Trojan Horse Democrat Slick Willard and go serve him up to Obama. You knuckledragging libs trot out the religion card like the Obamabots trot out the race card to deflect all criticism of his divinity. I don’t give a damn what his religion is. The only thing that matters to him is power and appeasing his monumental ego.

No matter what I think about Romney, and I think he could bring a lot to an administration, if not the ticket, I think he will cause many Southern Baptist/southern types to stay home. McCain absolutely can’t afford to lose a voter.

What is behind all this hatred.

Just look at these description bombshells you throw.

Do you see or hear anyone throwing those type of insults at your candidate, who ever that may be?

That's why I, and many people on FR, sense that you have some ulterior motive for your anti-Romney diatribes.

"What is behind all this hatred."

I don't hate him. I dislike liars. I dislike con-men who lie to others. You obviously have no conscience in advancing the cause of liars, as long as the paycheck clears.

"Just look at these description bombshells you throw."

I call 'em like I see 'em. Concise and to the point, and above all, FACTUALLY based.

"Do you see or hear anyone throwing those type of insults at your candidate, who ever that may be?"

Yes. And since you agents seem to know so much about me, it's interesting you ask me that SAME question over and over again. Don't you KNOW the answer ? I only post it every day a few dozen times a day. And I don't have one candidate alone, I have several. The point is to keep KNOWN destructive liberals the hell away from the GOP nomination.

"That's why I, and many people on FR, sense that you have some ulterior motive for your anti-Romney diatribes."

It's the same motive as Jim Robinson, repeated for your convenience: Keep your little lying, liberal, Presidential-whoring, bribing, sleazebag, used car salesman, Trojan Horse Democrat Slick Willard the HELL away from my party's leadership. Ya dig, Mr. Bot ?

Ah I so love the classics.

When it comes to being a wordsmith Shakespear has nothing on Jim...

Let’s hope it was trial balloon and McCain is going to pick a VP that is conservative.

Ah, forgive me, that’s my quote, not JimRob’s (the implication is that I am on the same page with he on this guy being a total fraud and phony). He had another one I’ve since misplaced that sent the bots into epileptic fits that they thought I authored. As always, I told them if they angrily disagreed to go tell the author what they think of him, just as they have for me. ;-)
