He never served a day in uniform and spent his time in our district, including Killeen telling the military the Republicans would take away their benefits if he was not reelected. I’ve been told by a couple (Republicans, elderly) who backed him initially, ‘cause he is an Aggie, that people in his campaign use pretty common language.
I don’t know where they Chet came from, but I think his real first name is Howard...or something like that. I saw it once.
