methane is not processed, just burnt. It is a dirty fuel and the engines require constant maintenance. Get it right. Methane, CH4, is a major component comprising 70 to 90% of natural gas composition.
The short chain hydrocarbons (ethane, propane butane etc) burn very clean.

You are right.
But the “Methane” that comes from a landfill is not “clean” methane.
I guess it should really be called “landfill gas” since it is mostly methane, but a lot of other impurities with it.
If you open up an engine that runs on natural gas, it is pretty clean on the pistons.
If you open up an engine that runs on “landfill gas”, there is a lot of scale on the pistons, cylinders, etc.
So, I wasn’t clear earlier. Landfill Gas is not Methane.
