WASHINGTON -- By the time Election Day arrives, you might be forgiven for thinking that Barack Obama's running mate is named Lilly Ledbetter.
OK, I'm exaggerating, but, really, the Obama campaign wouldn't mind.
Ledbetter was on the losing end of a Supreme Court case last year on equal pay. A manager at a Goodyear tire plant in Alabama, she consistently received smaller raises than her male counterparts. The Supreme Court threw out her suit because, the five-justice majority said, she waited too long to complain, even though she didn't know about the pay difference earlier.
Now, a bill to fix this equal pay Catch-22 is pending in Congress -- and the Ledbetter case has emerged as a key piece of Obama's effort to woo women. In particular, working women, less-educated women, older women.
Women who voted for a certain woman, and haven't come around to the guy who defeated her.
It's not that Obama has a problem with female voters. To the contrary, he does significantly better among women than men. It sounds paradoxical, but the campaign, lagging badly among white men, may have its biggest growth potential among women voters. Women, especially women without a college education, tend to make up their minds later. Recent polls show twice as many women as men undecided.

"Significantly"? Not according to Dick Morris: "The worst thing about the new Zogby show that has Obama down five points to McCain (as opposed to his July lead of seven points) is that there is now virtually no gender gap in the race. In July, Obama was getting 53% of the support of women as opposed to 47% among men. But now he is winning only 43% of women and 41% of men, so while his male support is down by six points, his female backing is off by ten points."

And men can bury him.
Not this woman! Ever
Most men make the mistake of thinking that they can get inside a woman’s head and predict how she will vote. Not a good thing to attempt. I am regrettably not a college graduate. However that doesn’t mean that I will vote for Obama. I’m a Republican. But if I were inclined to vote Democrat ,I would have been a Hillary supporter(lesser of two evils). Right now I would be a very ticked off Hillary supporter. The Obama campaign has managed to pull off some of the best pr for their candidate, that I have witnessed in years. They are still pumping it out.People are envisioning the women who backed Hillary , heads bowed , submitting to the great Barack Messiah and giving their all for him. Wrong. Not a good assumption to make. I firmly believe they will back McCain. Never underestimate a really loyal ,angry woman. Remember the old saying,”Hell hath no fury...
Like we never heard this one before.
Another idiot reporter from a dying newspaper.
I once did a simple analysis from the Clinton elections in the 1990s, when the “gender gap” was first discussed.
Bill Clinton may have had more women voting for him, significantly more, but it was largely due to the 95% - 5% majorities of blacks.
Meaning, subtract away the huge black differences and the rest of American women split almost 50:50.
So while women do vote for Dems more than Repubbies, it is more a “race gap” than a gender gap.
Maybe some of those women who fainted when Barry-O walked onto any platform a few weeks ago have come to their senses and decided that he isn't the man of their naughty dreams after all.
OTOH, I don't believe much of what the Toesucker says about anything, so this may be just more of his hot air escaping and further polluting the atmosphere.
"It has been a mixed week for Sen. Barack H. Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate. On the one hand, a Reuters/Zogby poll announced that the junior senator from Illinois' 7-point lead over Sen. John McCain, has dissolved into a 5-point deficit."
He Haw! Hey Junior $inator, Obama, the Oreo. How are you doing down there with the Poll number Changes? Change can be a B$tch!
Bambi, baby, It ain't over until the fat lady sings.
This pos posing as a real journalism oped, is another example of why the fishwraps in America are going down the drain.
Obviously the author didn't bother looking at that poll.
