I actually think McCain played it smart. Kept his guns in the holsters until he knew for sure who his opponent was and waited until it was closer to the election to come out fighting.
Too many people wanted McCain to start out with his hair on fire. That’s not how he won the nomination and it’s not how he’s going to win the presidency.
