I usually avoid watching the Dem Convention like the plague because I can't stand to hear the idiocy spewing forth from the various speakers.

But this year, I can hardly wait!

I have several friends who feel the same way.

Will the Dems finally self-destruct? The large egos and strong possibilities are certainly there.

These are dems. Any fight that occurs is probably going to resemble a Jerry Springer episode called "my cross-dressing husband found out about my lesbian lover." IOW, a really ugly chick fight. You just know there are going to be flying chairs. As for me, all those posters on sticks are going to make prime weapons, and I just can't wait!!

I agree with your post — while I want the Hillary voters to push hard for her and create a huge stir, I don’t want her as VP (or POTUS) candidate. Dems who supported her would likely come back to Obama with her on the ticket as VP, and those Dems (men?) who hate her will still vote for Obama because, well, she would ONLY be the VP candidate. This is a losing situation for our side.

I hope there’s a big ruckus in Denver but that Obama ultimately prevails and selects some other running mate. Let’s “hope” his gigantic ego prevents him from taking her on the ticket, despite what DNC insiders may push him to do.

That's ridiculous. Everyone knows that the Antichrist was a weird British kid named Damien with mesmerist and telekinetic powers adopted by Gregory Peck in the 1970s. Obama doesn't look anything like him. They'll be sorry for bringing this up when SouthPark gets hold of this.

But they should tone down the messiah stuff. They could make a stronger case if they stopped worshipping and fawning over Obama. That's just going to scare fundamentalists.

Out here in California, we have an interesting situation brewing. Our legislature still has not passed a budget (it was due By July 1), and the governor is talking about holding them in session through the conventions unless they get a budget passed. There are 73 Dems, all superdelegates, who would not be voting at the convention. I don’t know how many would be Obama delegates, but it could be an issue. As I recall, if less than 200 superdelegates abstained or switched their votes, Obama would not win the nomination on the first ballot.

As the roll call vote for hillary nears the necessary number to secure her nomination, I expect the obama supporters will be throwing chairs and swinging fists.

I wonder if the latest Zogby poll isn't just a little cooking of the books by Zogby to help nudge Obama into selecting Hillary for his "Dream Team"?

In any case I expect a 180 by Zogby following the Dem convention/coronation.
