But I’ll bet you are a really cheerleader for pro-life rights aren’t you.

Not particularly - I'm opposed to abortion, but its not something I think lends itself well to legislative solutions. Its frankly not a big driver in my political leanings.

Interesting deflection attempt there.

No, they can’t enter my house to check them. I might, if I’m in a good mood, bring them in and test fire them for them.

I wouldn’t let them search my home, because I’m not the only one who lives here. Besides, they’re not exactly known for leaving it neat and orderly afterwards.

“Rectangular firing pins.”

Partly, plus the firing pin orifice on Glocks leaves a mark that can be individualized to the gun. Then there are extractor and ejector marks as well. All of these have been admitted as evidence after their Daubert hearings.

They are trying to find the gun that was used in the crime. It is possible that it was used in the murder but not by the owner. Maybe his/her kid did it? If they are looking at every angle to solve the crime then that's a whole lot different than using the investigation as a front to subvert rights.

There is a second amendment that needs to be respected but doesn't society also have the right to demand that the Commandment, “Thou Shall Not Kill” be central to part of the equation as well?

That brings up a point though. If they were to get 2-3 false matches then there’s reasonable doubt established for the defense right there.

How do you know? Do you know that they refused to canvass? Do you know that they didn't interview the victims’ families? Did you know that the cops didn't visit their schools to see if there were any issues? Past reports of threats or acts of violence?

Tell me you have knowledge that these actions were not taken.

"The larger picture is getting the wacko off the streets. It isn't about your gun ownership...

The larger issue that trumps all is Freedom which is directly tied to gun owenrship. I would bet money the main problem is the Justice System. This wacko more than likely has a long record and should never have been on the streets to begin with.

Infringement of second amendment rights is a slippery slope. It only takes a couple of cases like these to set court precedent so that in the future, law enforcement can point to these and say, “see, it worked there, so we should change the law to allow the roundup of guns and their owners in all gun related crimes.” And it will lead to registry, confiscation and the criminality of owning any gun. Trampling on the rights of others so that a case can be solved leads to a police state which makes the innocent guilty until they prove their own innocence. See CHINA, CUBA, NORTH KOREA, IRAN...

How are the gun shops even turning over the 4473’s to local LEO’s? I thought it was supposed to be restricted to BATF and the feds??? Hasn’t a law been broken here by the local LEO’s in their demand of those documents?

Do you remember the FBI fingerprint analyst who was calling 4 points a match in literally hundreds of cases and never called on it. I am just saying....

exactly my point. if the dealer handed over the 4473s, or even went thru them and handed the LEO’s a list.. that’s ridiculous. if a judge issued a warrant for them, he should be pretty well screwed. i can’t believe there’s not already lawsuits.

I’ll show an ID, but I don’t do paperwork on private transactions. Not when selling, buying, or trading.
