If Hillary tries to take over at the convention, what do you see as her chances of succeeding?
Who knows what may happen in that case. If she wrests it from him and then trys to give him the VP knod...would he take it?
I believe at this point it is becoming apparent that Obama is going to be a poison pill in any case.
Polls like this coming right before the Democrat Convention have to create much anxiety among Obama supporters and Dems in general. I bet Bill Clinton is loving this and this kind of drop in Obama support gives Hillary a little more meat to dig her claws in.
Perhaps Obama and the Dem Big-Whigs see the best VP choice as being Hillary.... I would love to see the Obama/Hillary ticket....
Even better...A HILLARY! / Obama ticket
.
Operation CHAOS Baby!
Depends on whether she's leading the inevitable riots from the front, or from the rear...
I do admit that Obama is not going into the convention with the kind of strength you would think he should have. He's not growing his base, or even sliding sideways; he's darn near free-fall. Is this by design, or by his own incompetence? I'm not sure which scenario is worse.
Regardless, I think there are Obama backers who will not be satisfied with anyone other than Obama with the nomination. I would say his backers are fervent enough to vehemently protest, if Hillary steps in his place.
>>If Hillary tries to take over at the convention, what do you see as her chances of succeeding?<<
Zero. If the Dems had rational nominating rules, she would have been their nominee. But with them everything boils down to victim status, and that is what is carrying Obama. Barring some horrible scandal, they are simply too consumed with white guilt not to nominate him.
While theoretically possible, it would mean the instant fragmentation of the Dem Party. Permanent? Probably not, but akin to the collapse of the Dems in the 1850s or the Republicans when TR left with his minions to challenge Taft. It would be good for 2-3 election cycles. I can't believe even the moonbats are loopy enough to do that. They would go down with the SS Obamination first.
You didn't ask me, but I have thought for some time it was a 40% chance Hillary would end up as the nominee.....I'm now up to 49%....and inching up with every Obama gaff, stumble and mumble.
The Dems are desperate for a winner....they will suffer anything (even losing a bunch of the Black vote) to win. Hillary is starting to look like a better bet than Obama. As soon as it gets to 49.999% for Hillary, Obama's ride is over.
