Here's where I guess we say, "BLACK HAWK DOWN ON POSTVILLE."

Yup, after $10,000,000 spent on the absurd raid on a kosher meat plant in May, only about 300 illegal aliens supposely deported and given zero jailtime (even though many were multiple deportees), here's what's happening at Agriprocessors in Postville, Iowa: Buh-bye, Hispanic illegal aliens. Hello, "semi-legal" Muslim Somalian extremists...

Now THAT doesn’t make sense.
I’d prefer illegal Mexicans to legal Muslims thank you.

Illegal immigration is not a social conservative issue. Quit bitching.

To hell it's not!

I regret to inform the kosher community that our family has decided to go toward the SPIRIT of kashruth and not the letter of the law. We now only eat meat from healthy, grass-fed animals raised and killed under organic conditions. I can’t support the kosher meat community any more after hearing all these horrible stories. Sorry.

The stupidity gets worse. The leftist morons in the Jewish community were behind the exposure at Postville. Not because they have a problem with illegals but for worker’s rights.

I enjoy inappropriateness, watching chicks make out with each other, marijuana, violent video games, pre-marital sex, etc. I also couldn't care less whether or not gays can marry. So I think we've established that I'm not a social conservative.

I am, however, very fiscally conservative and am extremely opposed to illegal immigration on those grounds. Throwing out the "social conservative" card willy-nilly is intellectually lazy.

Jewish law prohibits Lashon hara (gossip), rechilus (talebearing), mesirus (slander), malshinus (defamation) and motzee shem ra (character assassination). I don’t suppose it has ever occurred to you to boycott news sources that practice these things.

Furthermore, in the secular system, there is the presumption of innocence, and “hearsay” is not valid evidence.

I will give Agri “dan l’kaf sechus” over PETA and the lynch mob media.

“A number of people have advocated not buying their product because of the violations of employment laws, but that’s a secular issue. And a good idea, imo.”

The Jewish Community which got involved here were leftists concerned with unionization and human rights. They were idiots. The upshot was deportation and Islamists.

The OU certified this plant’s kashrut. Human rights are not part of the Kashrut certification.

...leftist morons in the Jewish community...

Unfortunately there are entirely too damned many of them!

They apparently have no sense of history and, in fact, have no sense at all.

The communist jews have been like many other people: useful idiots.

Those owners and managers should all be in prison.

Our socialist central government is complicit in this.

They allowed the Somali Muslims in to further contaminate the population of this once great nation, and then aimed them at Tyson who was eager to hire.

I'm totally against illegal immigration, but I would take the illegal Mexicans over the Islamics anyday. What I would do is I would first make able-bodied welfare people work there, if the wages are less than the welfare, then welfare will still make up that part of it, same with healthcare. After that, I'd make a deal with the illegals, "if you want to be citizens, here is a work permit. To keep it, learn English, know basic U.S. history and pass a background check. Loyalty to the U.S. is important too." The ones here the longest get first dibs. Normally I'm against amnesty but it is better than widening the Islamic threat.

I'd trust José over Abdul anyday, as long as he is loyal to the U.S., has strong family values and works hard as well as go through the legal means to become a citizen. As to Islam, some might think I'm too harsh but it needs reform, much like Christianity needed it 500 years ago, until we get a mass Islamic movement against the Wahabists, I see Islam through a jaundiced eye.

How about being man enough to call law breaking exactly what it is. I may be one of those filthy social conservatives you despise but at least I'm not a coward.

I do agree on some of that point too, I'd like to know how much they pay, benefits and so on before passing judgement. We do have a problem where in many circumstances it would pay more to be on welfare than to work, given the pay rates at some jobs. I do favor for able-bodied welfare people should work at some of those jobs where if the pay is not enough, welfare covers the balance, at the least, we would reduce the footprint on society to a smaller level. Putting a gun to my head, Mexicans, well, as I said before I don't like illegal Mexicans but take them over Islamists anyday but with the idea of making them legal, that is, if more workers are needed.

Still, I do agree with you that the ideal situation is that perhaps we do need higher pay to attract more born here Americans so that is another issue we do need to address.

Not even because of workers' rights, but because they simply hate the Orthodox. Stephen Bloom, who started the brouhaha in his book "Postville" bragged how much he hated the Hasidim, that they had no business living in Iowa, and the purpose of his book was to damage their community as much as he could. Even as he got himself invitations to Sabbath meals all over the neighborhood, he was thinking up ways to smear them while he was stuffing his pie hole with their food.

That's what I said, it's a secular issue.

Obviously there was no way of knowing, but personally I wouldn't patronize a business which was breaking labor and tax laws. If guilty I hope those charged criminally receive significant fines and sentences rather than slaps on the hand.

The heck with the people who live in outlying areas where kosher meat was not available before Postville.

Some Modern Orthodox were ‘useful idiots’ to Stephen Bloom’s anti-Hasidic agenda. They were upset at how workers were supposedly treated - “not given soda.”

It is all a bunch of loshen harah, nothing proven. They shamed the community.

Yeah, the *ell with those Jews who object to lawbreakers, they're a bunch of commies.

Give me a good, red blooded American lawbreaker, a coyote who imports illegals and cheats on his taxes anyday.

Corruption, dishonesty, that's what this nation is built on!

Here's a novel idea. How bout paying enough to attract Americans to do those jobs?

If I can locate any old articles I'll link them. When this plant opened it generated a bit of publicity, both for the obvious cultural differences, and the positive impact of moving their plant to a rural area, providing jobs to the under and unemployed. American's did do these jobs. As in other industries, when compensation and work conditions deteriorate, fewer American's are willing to take them.

I suppose that you are aware that a corporation (whether it's Tyson Foods or a mom & pop op), when presented with documents that seem authentic, and SSN's that clear the system, are not allowed to investigate further, lest they cause undue distress to the job applicants.

Oh and BTW, none of the executives at Agri has been indicted, much less convicted, of lawbreaking. But what the hey, lynch mobs are a good old red-blooded American tradition!
