We have been far more provoked the past 50 years by Russia than this and never took the fight to direct military engagement between us and for good reason.

Step One. Freeze all Russian State accounts in Western banks. Freeze the accounts of all Russian political leaders, too.
Step Two. Disband the G-8 and reconstitute the original G-7.
Step Three. Expel the Russian Ambassadors from all NATO countries and recall our Ambassadors for 'consultations.'
Step Four. Immediately invite Georgia and Ukraine into NATO.
Step Five. Move several squadrons of A-10's to Incirlik Air Base in Turkey.
Step Six. Move several squadrons of Air Force fighters to same.
Step Seven. Ship several hundreds of MANPADS to Georgia.
Step Eight. Ship several hundreds of JAVELIN missiles to Georgia.
Step Nine. Publicly offer the Georgian government access to US satellite data.
Step Ten. Tell Putin "your move."
