A combative Barack Obama said Tuesday that Republican John McCain "doesn't know what he's up against" in this election and challenged his rival to stop questioning his character and patriotism.
Obama, campaigning in a state where he hopes to become the first Democratic presidential candidate to win in more than three decades, implored his supporters to fight for the presidency.
"Our job in this election is not just 'win,' although I'm a big believer in winning," Obama said during the rally. "I don't intend to lose this election. John McCain doesn't know what he's up against."
"He can talk all he wants about Britney (Spears) and Paris (Hilton), but I don't have time for that mess," Obama said.
His remarks carried forward a theme of feisty campaigning he debuted earlier in the day.
Addressing the Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Orlando, Fla., Obama reaffirmed his early opposition to the U.S. invasion of Iraq and said the strategy of sending in 30,000 additional troops last year had not produced the political reconciliation necessary to achieve lasting peace in the country.
McCain supported the Iraq invasion and was an early champion of the surge.

all bluster no action, ready to debate Maccain anywhere anytime, until Maccain took him up on it.
I think McCain is up against a self-absorbed, socialist, with no core values.
McCain is up against a culture full of media elites, who are sympathetic to Obama and unwilling to do their job as journalists.

Well there's probably some truth to that -- I doubt that McCain really appreciates (yet) what a squalid, vicious, America-hating bunch of loons Obambi has embraced for much of his life. This campaign will get a lot uglier AND every time anyone tries to appoint out some of the despicable aspects of Obambi's life, beliefs, and associates there will be rabid attacks crying "racism" etc. (as we have seen tonight from Chris Matthews, who is trying out the latest Obama campaign talking point.... that even to talk about Obambi's inexperience is to invite "racism" in the campaign).
The reality is that if Obambi were not "1/2 black" and running as an "African-American" he never could have gotten to this point, with is lack of experience and far-left views. Now every time anyone tries to take him on the Chrissy Matthews "racism" cry will grow louder and more hysterical.
So, no, John McCain probably does not yet fully realize what the Obambi campaign is all about, but it won't be long now before everyone sees it.....

John McCain spent years facing sadistic captors. I doubt that he is afraid of this punk.
Anyone who thinks this is going to be easy is only fooling themselves, but when the dust settles, McCain will be up against Hillary, not Obamma.

Ludicrous. AND, I heard earlier on FNC that Michelle has problems with Joe Biden as a vp choice because she feels he would possibly “upstage” hubby and be perceived as “co-president”. (she wants to keep that role for herself)

Stop questioning his character. Infuriates me when he says that when he proves every day he is a man of bad character. Been caught in so many lies we’ve lost track. So yes, his character is to be questioned as is the patriotism of a candidate who counts a known terrorist as one of his compatriots.
He’s up against the next Hitler, the next Pol Pot. He probably doesn’t, or else he’d strike back a lot harder than he has been.
