Santa Ana, CA (AP) -- Day laborers reached a tentative settlement with the Orange County Sheriff's Department in an unusual harassment lawsuit that saw workers take their case to federal court, an attorney said.
. . . Trial had been set to begin Tuesday in the suit filed by more than 50 laborers who claimed deputies violated their right to free speech by telling them they couldn't seek work on a street corner in Lake Forest.

Private industry won't take them so the end up in government. Now they are negotiating deals of massive ramifications.
I may be uninformed, but do day laborers have a right to hang out looking for work? Are there local laws which regulate that sort of thing?
I think it might be a fine line between being a day laborer looking for work vs. loitering. But, whatever, they got their day in court.

When it comes to illegal aliens, I doubt that any of our LEOs, and particularly our politicians (other than Rep. John Campbell and a few others), have the guts to publicly oppose the day laborer (aka illegal aliens) blight...
Most don't even have the right to be in the country.
Actually, court was next week, this was pre-trial deal with the local hacks.
